In my opinion these booster packs are a real waste unless they are going to sell it in a cheap 20 dollar expansion also in stores. That would be great since a lot of people may not be willing to pay over the internet. But seriously what is it with these cheesey booster packs you buy online anyway? Ive never seen any other FPS game have such an idiotic method of buying an expansion like this and make you pay for 3 maps and 2 new vehicles. Well ill get to the point, is the only way of purchasing this expansion threw a credit card over the internet like evey other booster we have seen with bf2. Still I think this booster will suffer the same fate as Euro force and Armoured Fury in the end. Hopefully it will so no one will be playing boosters all the time and maybe EA can take a hint.

Well this isn't an EXPANSION pack, this is a BOOSTER pack. Expansion=Special Forces which had a ton of stuff in it, hence why it was worth it to put it out in stores. Every game with an expansion is out in stores, but never booster packs as far as I am concerned. You don't need a checking acct to use a credit card online. It's called gift visa cards that you secure via phone...try it.

Just so you guys know.. This is the new wave of gaming.. It's not just EA jumping on the bandwagon of selling most of the game for $50 and then bringing out small pieces for say $20. Every major gaming company is going to start withj this process. Simple as that, you dont want it, dont buy it.

Be happy that this tyope of distribution is more friendly to the environment. You don't have to drive to your game shop, it doesn't come wrapped in chlorine-bleached carboard and it's not flown or trucked for 1000s miles to get to where you live. It didn't require gigawatts and gigawatts of power to press the DVDs and the jewel case.

I really hate buying stuff online though, not to mention I like to support my local game shop (its an indy one).

I have no issue with buying stuff online but I think it's a great idea to broaden the potential number of users by selling it in store even if it means jacking up the price a bit to cover distribution and packaging costs.

Why do people always complain about new booster/expansion packs!? If you dont want it, dont f***ing buy it..simple as that, expansion/booster packs are good in my opinion, it brings new stuff into the game without having to download a 500MB+ patch that doesnt fix anything.

You guys do realise you can buy the booster packs in a retail box after 6 months of being available online right? I was actually thinking of picking up the bf2 booster pack, armoured fury at DSE the other day but i would have to buy euro forces again as it includes both.

lets just say I'd rather fork out 20 quid on an expansion pack than a couple quid on something that'll be dead in a couple weeks.

Ill admit it I have no credit card. Im 18, unemployed this is my last year of high school and since you need money to have a credit card Im out of luck. I could try to get a job but Id have to quit it by the summer time since Im doing co-op for school. I think my best bet is those gift visa cards or whatever they are. Does anyone here know how to get those? One person said you can secure it by phone but my parents are always sensitive about things like credit cards. Can you buy them at any stores? Im from Toronto, Canada (Mississauga area) would they sell these sort of things in Canada? Can anyone help me out?

lol just try to rub it ill be getting a job after the summer time. I dout by that time every single game store is going to be shutting down. Battlefield is the only game Im currently interested in wich has this download only credit card over the net crap. Games like UT 2007, Enemy Territory Quake Wars arn't doing this and so are the majority of PC game makers out there. Expansion packs will continue to survive if their done right.

I have seen the pre-paid CC's at some of the large chain Pharmacy's like Walgreens and Rite-aid but they actually cost money in addition to the funds that go on it.....i figured maybe $1 or 2 but no.....it was like 7-10.
I did a alittle research and alot of them have an activation fee (the 7-10 listed above) plus some have Monthly Maintenance fees of 4.95.
So if you were to use a prepaid CC it could cost you atleast 20 for the BP

I got a Visa Gift Credit card for christmas, the person paid between 3-5$ to buy it, activation via phone was free and very simple. Where she bought it? Not sure, some simple google searching might help though.

No retailers = no new passing trade.
Boosters only appeal to those who have the game. If I saw the game in the shop, with no way of knowing a booster was available with a game mode I might like the idea of, how would I know to buy?
www.play.com have it available on thier site for pre-order and purchase.

I would also buy it if it went to stores, even if i hate the bastard-ic way EA's selling it.
Maybe it should be available in stores, to a slightly higher price?
