I'm wondering what you all thought about allowing the commander to give a 5 point bonus to a squad that is following orders by choosing the "Commend squad" option, they could only do this once per round per squad. I think it would encourage squads to follow a commander's orders.

I think it could work.
But most commanders would just abuse it and give everyone the bonus.
Either that or everyone will get pissed at the "righteous" commanders that hold the points for the right time/not at all.

It would be abused if it was per squad. It you could only give it to one squad per round then the squads may actually try to be the best.

The commander would just give the points to his friends. It wouldn't work.

Well, you know how there is a squad ranking at the end of the game in the debriefing window? Why doesn't the first place squad get a bonus of some sort? Squad Bonus x2 for being #1 squad? I think that'd be pretty fair.

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it.

The more I think about this idea, the more I like it. That sounds like a good idea, but if it was based on the squad bonus points they earned for following SL orders.

That's exactly what I meant.

Squad leaders get Squad Leader Bonus x2
Squad members get Squad (Order) Bonus x2

He is right there, clan commanders might give bonuses to fellow clan mates in a single squad..

Make it this way.

If a commander gives an order and the squad follows it, they get a + 1 (out of 5) follow count.

They recieve this + 1 only if they get more than 5 squad points at that flag.

If they do this 5 (how many ever, just giving example), they whole squad gets a pin, 10 point bonus etc.

That will be much harder to get and there will be competition.

A great idea. I think if more points were involved in squadding, you'd get more lonewolves joining squads. Commanding is a pain when you have only 30-40% of the players in squads. So adding more incentive is probably in order.

You're my inspiration. Credits to SilverDragon! =]

Sad thing is that DICE will never see this, and the idea will never be implemented. (I'm hoping for some kind of reverse psychology thing with this statement).

I may not be the best commander but I'll be the first to admit that I flat out do not usually issue squads orders if i'm the commander for the simple fact that they don't follow them. But as mentioned above maybe if a commander issued order that was accepted by the SL should issue twice or maybe just 1.5 times the normal amount of points when fufilled

A squad that goes to bases other than the one that is being base raped is a good squad. (If the other base is in the other hand that is).

Give orders to them, make sure they within your sights and follow them and support them.
