What kind of sniper are you. A close range sniper, who stay with squad in the back and get body shots to weaken them for your squad. Or are you long range, who stay far away and get headshots.

Long range is sorta the bread and butter of a sniper.

I love the long range head shots myself, I really suck at close quarters combat.

I shift from role to role but I always stick with my sniper rifle, especially in titan corridors when you can hit defenders/attackers when they think they are completely covered. Sometimes I'll stay back and just be a generic sniper and hound infantry instead of actually doing anything.

And I have about a 25/1 kdr with sniper rifles or something. At least with the morreti.

Im more of a find a spot and go for long range shots. I prefer to hit them when I can barely see them, which usually means they wont find me until I've racked up a dozen kills or so, then I just move to another spot and do the same.

Same here. It just annoys me when half your team are camping and not capturing flags.

I pay sniper on days when I wanna be relaxed and methodical instead of just running and gunning. It's taken me some time but I've found some really good spots to hang out. I don't use the second stabilzer unlock because it seems useless and takes the fun out of figuring out the player breathing pattern, I like when the crosshair is shaking and I'm about th hit right when it is on the head. I don't use the zeller. The thing is to loud and I hate the clip size. Plus I seem to get more one hit kills with the default sniper rifle.

I like to play from a fair distance. The only problem is it seems the programmers for the game didn't make it easy to snipe from long distances. You get to a point where you see the person in plain view and you take 3 perfect headshots and not one of them hits.

I get alot of my flag/silo defense points as sniper. the active camo is good for hiding in the distance if you see a tank or someone looking out trying to find you. throw some c4 around a silo and just sit back. Basically someone is always gonna roll up in a vehicle and your c4 is either gonna blowup or the veh will take heavy damage and enemy will hop out and you snipe um dead.

But sniping can be real fun on those days you just wanna kick back and collect a few kills. Plus it usually helps your k/d ratio to be a sniper.

I'm more of the absolutely crap kind of sniper... I haven't bothered playing enough of it to get better, cos after i miss a few shots that seem to have been lined up properly, i get the sh*ts... My recon kit usually involves camo, apms and the lambert...

Maybe soon I'll get into actual sniping... we'l see...

Mid range. I constantly move from place to place so that I can't get spotted. The Camo helps when I have to go from spot to spot.

That's why you hid in obsure places like in a bush behind a bldg as opposed to the top of a tow where your body is outlined perfectly for the kill. there are many places to snipe from just gotta find a good spot.

95% of all time I play as a Squad leader - thats cool. I always follow orders, get bonus scores for that. I can ask commander for orbital strikes, UAV, supplies etc
But I never played as a COmmander :) NEVER! Not even a single second in 2142

Because thats what everyone says. There are zillions of good spots, just dont take the obvious ones(monorail anyone?).

offensive sniper. i move around and flank the enemy at medium long range to provide support to the guys capturing points. i move after every kill generally, camping is great why to get owned. i will also go for objectives if it calls for it. camping and sniping are awkward to me, especially ina defensive situation, i like to move around, being PAC with a park on camp G is heaven to me, because attacking is easier than defending, especially when your a sniper. actually, camping-defensive snipers sicken me a little. ive pulled out my rifle to get rid of a single nub who thinks that sitting outside of fog radius getting body shots mean he is l337.

if anyone has seen the offensive sniper guide/vid, theyll know what i mean, i try to play like the guy who made that, since its so fun and effective. :P i use default rifles, (park 52 is better than the morreti, maybe because pac is generally in a position where i can as a i want to, ie offensively) plus the morretti seem to have issue with ghost rounds, like where they dont connect with the dudes cranium. am i the only one who thinsk that the park is alot superior to the SR4?

the only exception to this, is when i position myself a large distance from a major infantry crossing. such as the large gap in camp G from the harbour to central camp. even then ill move and hide within a 20m radius. often moving from building to building and moving my way forward, simply standing in one spot is a great way to get nuked by a n00b commander and arty or PK-74

ill generally try and get headshots, i can get them on target that are running across my screen with about 1-2 seconds time now,whcih often leads to some angry ppl :P provided they dont start zig zagging, then it takes a little more time. i generally get 90% or above of my kills from headshots, simply because the rifles ROF is too slow to make body shots worthwhile.

incidently, mose infilrator badges i got in a round was 5, with, i think like 52 total now, but i split myself between all classes equally. but, has anyone noticed that occasionally you swear youd got a headshot and it just wont register? ive wasted full clips on one guys skull only to find that evey bullet mysteriosuly ghosts through him, bah

try being offensive, keep your range over 50m mind you, but charge forward anyway, its crazy fun, you can get 180 career points easy from a sinlge round from infilrator pins, combat eff' pins.

Hehe... I might try that for fun, Brood, but if you ask the guys I play with, it's usually better if I just don't play sniper. I can use those APMs in sneaky ways and the times I've stolen someone's activecammo, I've had some fun with it, but generally speaking... yeah. I'm a lousy sniper.

The only way I'm going to ever really get into the recon class is if I unlock the Lambert.

Give me something fully auto and some stuff that goes boom!

Midrange sniper for me (150-250 yards), but always stay in a random sniping spot..ie, in some bushes, beside a tree, anything, even on the wide open road - people scanning the skies or just the level ground may think you're just a rock or something XD. But sometimes I get camp happy or don't find a good spot, then I get a knife in the back >.>

For the most part, I aim for the body - I'm not that good with head shots, can't hit any while they are moving. The funny thing is that people tend to STOP and crouch/prone if they are shot in the body...either giving me an easy shot..or they'd prone behind a box..then prone again to give me a headshot.

LOL time to start practicing, basically dont scope in until the centre of your screen is aiming at their head, that means you have very little adjustment to make and allows for very quick headshots. you just need to shoot your shot fast, if you miss make sure to crouch jump so when you land you have perfect accuracy for your next shot (which you DEFINITELY shouldn't miss). Oh and if you have multiple enemies make sure that you press the right mouse button a fraction of a second after your shot so that you dont waste any time scoping (whats the point of watching them die and getting recoil?), thanks to the lag you will usually see your rifle fire unscoped but your scoped accuracy is still present.

That's funny. I find it a lot easier to go for head when you are at close range, and weaken the enemy from afar. However, neither.

For that matter, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't use the in-game voice. I find it's hella handy and even if people don't talk back to me, they usually do listen.

Im a medium to close range sniper, chestshots+sidearm will drop most people. Otherwise up front with the Lambert and APM's. Nothing beats that!!!! I probably stay further back with my LMG in support than I do with the sniperrifles
