Unique and regular tags, whats the difference?

If you knife the person once, it's a unique tags. Each tag from that person afterwards is not counted as unique, because it isn't.

I always thought it was pretty self-explanatory but many people seem to ask this question.

BahamutZ3RO has summed it up pretty nicely there...unique is...well...unique.

Each time you knife somebody for the FIRST time, that is considered unique. You can knife them again in the future and it will be added to your total knife kills...

There is the Statue of Liberty, that monument is unique, make another one, she is not unique anymore, but the original still counts as the FIRST one.
