In bf2 to if you clicked on an area of the map and zoomed in you could spot the enemies rather easily. In 2142 it seems like when you click on a spot and zoom it never goes to the exact area zoomed on and you can never spot the enemy. Also the zoom in bf2 was much smoother and faster to drag scroll. In 2142 it seems buggy.

Is this just an issue with me or is this something others have noticed?

It's not you, the commander menu is a mess in 2142.
Try clicking on an out of bounds guy, half the time the screen won't even scroll up to him.

You get used to it in time, but the BF2 commander interface was far superior to this one in almost every way.

Command zoom requires you to click on the area, wait 5 seconds and then zoom in. It's really messy and should be like BF2 command which was more responsive.

That's a good bit of info, thanks. Why the 5 second delay? Did they think it was to easy to spot enemies in bf2 or something so they put a delay on everything? Makes no sense.

I right click and select Zoom, it works just fine.

Well it's not quite five seconds, but there is a delay no idea why they put it there. There is also a delay when you initiate a command asset, so many times early on I would set a orbital strike and zoom out quickly (like I do in bf2) only to have the orbital strike position move because it placed itself in the zoomed out view position.

Also sometimes it will zoom into the correct area but the zoom in animation will drop down into the previous location which can also be confusing. Also the Supply drop will zoom you back out and back in at the last drop location instead of your current.

Its not that hard to get used to.

Once on the out most zoom, clicking anywhere will result in the focus to move.
