View Full Version : How Hard For New "Unlocks"

How hard will it be to obtain these new rewards for the unlocks? EA arnt simply going to give them away for free are they. The problem i can see with the fact that these new awards may be difficult to get is that it will open up a brand new dimension of stats padding and camping.

For Example:

One of the awards is for the assault class and to unlocks the weapon above the medic side of the assault class (the voss) you must achieve 15 heals and 30 revives in one round, well its hard enough to get 15 heals let alone getting 30 revives so i can see it leading to mass statspadding.

Another thing, does anyone know if the awards to obatain these unlocks can be received in both games, BF2142 and NS, or is it only through NS that they can be obtained?

Considering you only got Special Forces ribbons/badges in Special Forces, etc. I'm gonna guess the same rules will apply.

Yup, and that is why I think the awards will be fairly boring.

I was hoping for a few new pins (the unlock system shot that down real fast though)... yes I like the pins a lot, but they are terribly limited.
I fear we will get at least two servicelength awards (play all maps as EU and PAC respectively and play for a certain amount of time in the BP) and perhaps awards slaved to the classes as well. Which I find rather boring and redundant.

Of course we know nothing as of this time, so I can still hope. But I think the awards will be like this. Maybe two-three truly good awards.

i know of 1 pin.
Official source.

It's a simple but still important change to the Conquest: Assault game mode featured in the BF series since 1942. Its essence is that the attacking team cannot conquer the enemy home base until all other bases are under their control. This makes for a more coordinated assault and more tactical decisions to be taken during the game. If the attackers succeed with this heroic achievement endless glory and a special Conquest: Assault pin awaits them.

30 revives and 15 heals...thats impossible mate.

All you have to do is win the assault round to get a pin? Hell that's even easier than the Titan Survival Pin.

I actually think they should have just had points gained playing the booster maps as part of the unlocks.

I think that to get that pin your team has to win by capturing the base or be one of the guys that captures it. That would make it a whole lot harder... An I doubt it would just winning a battle as one or the other in Assault Line.

It is nice there is at least one pin, but wheer is the difference from this one and some badge? I was hoping for pins like the shotty pin or the infiltrator pin. Or Titan Assault pin...

I just hope these new badges will not lead to too much distraction from real gameplay and they are not uber hard and give a rise to statspadders.

Considering you only got Special Forces ribbons/badges in Special Forces, etc. I'm gonna guess the same rules will apply.Right, but your time in SF counted towards your overall badges. For example you needed 10 kills IAR for your Basic Support Combat badge in Vanilla and 11 Kills IAR for the SF Basic Support Combat badge, but the time accrued playing Support in SF counted towards your 15 hour requirement as Support to obtain your Veteran Support badge in Vanilla... (I dare me to make less sense  ) Similarly, for example, your time in a fixed position such as a machine gun or SAM in SF counted towards the time requirements for those badges as well. All that being said (I’m know I’m longwinded; sorry) you could not get your IAR requirements for you version specific badges in the other version; i.e. Vanilla didn’t have tear gas, so you couldn’t earn your tactical weapons deployment badge unless you were playing SF.

i can almost assure you that one of those awards is going to be halfway impossible like the combat commander or war college ribbon

however im just speculating

Afew of them seemed easy, others seemed like a challenge, with afew just being play time in NS.

Not many iirc had requirements with certain weapons (outside of the new vehcs). Most had things like do X new things with X much play time in NS get a shiny badge. The pin was very easy looking depending on how the new maps play out.

I'm not sure what exactly I can say without getting the thread closed and all I am saying is based of things I have seen on websites/heard. I am also not in the beta or under an NDA.

Well judging by the unlocks from the beta, its nothing but a joke. The ribbons, badges, unlocks - all are a joke. The only thing that seems worth it are the maps and the vehicles. And there is only 3 maps and 2 vehicles. Lets just hope we can make it obvious with our feedback during the beta that things need to change with regard to obtaining them.

you are basically going to pay for them so its not hard

The TBF2142 government doesn't like me posting pics of top-secret info, but I think I'm safe to say this given what I've seen:

Given that the unlocks are tied to getting the NS awards, it will not be very difficult at all to get the unlocks ;)

edit: No I'm not in the beta.

"Die Domain "bf2142-stats.com" ist nicht verfügbar."

But it is not unthinkable that the award requirements has been lowered in the Beta, to allow for testing. If they had the usual "8000 hours in a droppod" requirement they wouldn't be tested much ;)

Not anymore - just says "unknown badge/pin/ribbon" with dummy requirements that only consist of numbers (i.e., 5 IASR - but 5 what IASR?).
