there are lots of updates that are working on for the sig

keep in mind the this sig was made using lots of performances tricks to make the display very fast

it cant be done using gif jpg or png, on the next version the gif file will be as low as 22k, it wont look at as good as a png file but for forums that have different rules it will work very well

I am yet to see a single sig or sig site that displays number of awards. bf2142-stats does it, but updates are rare, if at all.

you are right, btw your sig is very nice as well, at first only being working on performamce and few bugs, in some site sigs cant be bigger than 20 or 30 kb

the sig i've done works with cache on the clinet as well as the server so hits to ea db are very few and generation of the images is done very fast

after reading more about this as far as i can see there is only one way the the number of medals but is a bit more complex than the way i do it now

again the idea with this sig is to be generated as fast as possible and using the least resources as possible this sometimes can me more complex than it looks.

the numbers of awards is taken from a different feed from what i can see, for now i think i'll work on other things then i'll work on that

again the main idea of this sig is to be fast generated and also file size that is whey there are options as far as file type and image rendering, I just wanted something that will not take lots of resources and load the EA servers as well as our own servers

myself and the other 19th member helping on this have worked very hard on the code, even tho it looks a very simple image the code behind has been analyzed line so no extra overhead is done.

show rank a Petty Officer...boy is that way off Capt Gold.

Will you be able to change the text color along with the background color, or does the text only change with a different background? Also, if there is a way to show your best weapon or how many kills you have with the weapon of your choice, it might be a nice addition. I know that will probably involve a lot of code but it's an idea to toss around for later versions.

Oh and I hope its ok if I use the blue one you showed us ;).

that is somthing i'm woring for a diffrent sig, i already got the info is just a matter of displaying it on the sig, thank for the tip

and yes u will be able to change, rank, name text and title colors the background u can pick from color background or image background now i have about 9 different images and planning to add more

btw the sig only updates every 24hrs at first was less but since we have lots of new ppl using we have to change it 24hrs so we do overload it

While i update the page to change this automatically here is what the url means

the first 3 means the sig version for now should always be 3
the second number is the sig style for now only 1 or 2 can be used
the third number is the background style it can be 1 or 2 (1 = color bg and 2 = image
the last number on the field is the gif or jpg compression 1 use color quality and 2 is for lower file size

the next field is for background color or image if you select bkg color then it should be a html color code or if you select img bkg the it should be a number from 0 to 9

Next are the text color in this order

rank,name,title and regular text

and last the pid and file type where it can be png,gif or jpg

is nothign to do with EA just the bad hosting company servergrid.com could not handle the traffic, DNS are updating now to the new site. it may take a day or 2 for all DNS servers to be upated

Thanks to E1 (19th Member and Developer) we now have the new site up and running we now have to adjust some setting in the server to be able to display the images correctly

in case you are interested in know why they don’t show is because we use .net to generate dynamic images and the server need to be changed so as.net handles images as supposed to the web server

Also the new site to help generate the sig code is done as soon as we get this fixed I’ll be updating this.

Some more new stuff will be changed as well, the we way we do cache of the sig will be changed to use a faster way. Will mean the display of the of the sig will be even faster.

You just copy whats at the bottom into the signature part of your profile.

I have added a new feature to the sig generator where now you can now use as a background any image you want the sig generator will also encrypt the url for your image in a way that only the player that originally created the can use background, this way if you have a unique image and don’t want other ppl to have it the sig will only display that background for you.

Some more updates coming like being able to change the font type to from regular, bold italic and also include an outline color o the text so it can be see better in case you background is too busy
