actually i think you do get points for it. i am about 60% sure, i think once i spotted someone for my team and i think my squad leader got him and i got bonus or something. get a dice guy here to confirm i really want to know

Thats when you spot someone and ure teammate kills him before the diamond dissapears.

Commanders dont get points for spotting I think.


They get points for squad order bonuses.
A supply drop giving ammo or health or a certain % of armour (definately happened to be on cerebere when a single squad all alone used my supply drop) they didnt have an order.

And orbitals.

I had spotted the gunship abuot 30 seconds ago. Since then I didn't spot anything, so I don't know why I got it

That's a mod. It means he got a commander bonus. When you spot someone, and they get killed by your team, you get a commander bonus. This gets added to your global score at the end of the game.

They have a guide on commanding in the tips section.

I was about to say the same thing. Haven't played for QUITE as long as you, by I spot all the time, just in case I can't deal with the enemy by myself.

It's not about spotting, it's about the target diamond that you give a squad member through netbat. I think.
Would be nice if this were for spotting for team members in the same way, though. Encouraging team play is a good thing.

Oh so it's only for netbat. That might explain it then. But yea, it would be good if spotting got you points and thus encourage teamwork. Oh, and I would also get lots more points because I'm an habitual spotter!
