You get auto ammo and health when standing close to a Goliath. The Goliath is slow and turns slow i guess so people have enough time to get back. And maybe the thing is so slow that you can't drive someone over.

For one, the vehicle itself will have a healing and resupplying aura when its occupied and repair itself very slowly. So you would just get in it as engie to have 100% points coming your way.

And two, a vehicle dont even have to be moving to kill you. You can sprint to one and whack into the side and die. Or you can bail from a vehicle, have it roll up to a wall, then attempt to jump over the vehicle between it and the wall and die.

I think you can't jump over the Goliath, because it's 10 metres high. Maybe the thing has some back entrance you can get into and has consoles like the Titan, removes the ability to bail and die.

No, but seriously, from the pictures, it definitely does not look 10 meters high, it looks basically like a slightly bigger, treaded, beefier APC with some extra abilities. Even walkers aren't 10 meters high.
It's a VEHICLE, of course soldiers will be able to drive it. It's not a commander asset.

In the 22nd Century you can't get vehicle drops and you can't walk over a 2 inch lip of rubble or rock without jumping, just not possible :)

I'd love to see vehicle drops in 2142 but I think you'd end up with cars being dropped on the Titan and poeple using them for other than intended.

Maybe you will be able to get in it and move around free like on he Titan so you can use your normal weapons but shoot out of holes etc as well a drive and get on gun emplacements etc

So 6 slots one main controller to control movement and 5 slots with little turrets/guns like the APC.

Heck you get a good crew with Support, Medics and some Engineers both in the IFV and in a APC behind you man that'd be a force to reckon with I bet.

eh... I doubt it'll be that bad. It'll be the usual first-come, first served arrangement just like a regular APC... nobody is going to have to actually slug it out for a seat. If it's already full, you're walking. Simple. :)

All I'm saying is that it BETTER not break the balance, and it better not leave PAC with a raw deal in the hachimoto. A recon or engi with reasonable skill better be able to take it down. :mad:

If the slow speed thing is correct, then I imagine that the role of the Goliath is more of a mobile base than a traditional vehicle.

It will slowly approach the enemy's base, while the enemy tries to fight it of.

The bluish rings on the outside of the Goliath are most likely shield generators. In the 1.19b patch, if you apply it and explore a bit in the mods/bf2142/vehicles_bp1_client.zip there are files with names of 'ifv_shield.bundlemesh', 'ifv_shieldgenerators.bundlemesh', and several others relating to an 'IFV' shield.
