How do you set the range for the PK-Rockets??

if you have a mouse wheel, just roll it forward or back, if not, set a key binding for mouse wheel selection in the config menu

when you see a target when you right click it will set the range for you and explode at this range, however if you move with the scope on the range will not readjust itself.

However, these rockets cannot be fired under 20 metres and so the default is 20 metres, although at point blank into a target they kill them (this is proven, i have tried).

They are the best side weapon in the game IMO, easy, easy kills at a good range.

You go into the scoped view for the PK rockets (right mouse button), click twice to "set" the current range that is displayed, or adjust the range by scrolling the mouse wheel. You can then fire, or unzoom and then fire.

whilst in zoom mode only.

2 ways, zoom into sky or really far away lol or less than 20 m away and it sets at 20.

zoom in at any other object and it sets it at that distance, then roll the wheel to adjust of course.

quick guide on how to use them:

1. pop up from behind cover and sidestep to make yourself harder to hit, zoom in on your targets cover and duck back down.

2.roll it 1 or 2 metres forward, pop up (sidestep while u cant fire and eventually when ur good enough when fireing) and fire above ur targets cover.. they should explode over there head that way..

very basic guide, mainly for mediumlong to long range snipers or any1 beind cover really :)

Just another thing to add, the very top line on your unzoomed crosshair is where the range will be set when you zoom in.

I find the pk-rockets good for defending and assaulting titans.

For defending, I camp in one of the corridors and shoot them towards the area where people like hiding in the vents before they assault a corridor, especially good if there is half a squad up there. Extra good if I have support guy next to me.

For assaulting I use them from the top vent area and shoot into the corridors to clear them for my team.

pk rockets are ownage on the Titan, good for taking out guys in the core room and just about any other nook and cranny, only problem is that it can take a short time to set and if they have seen you, chances are you'll be dead before getting off 2 shots.

Dont forget to adjust the height of your barrel when taking long range shots. They dip slightly the further the rockets travel however they do remain relatively straight.

Its 27 meters in the titan corridor to take em out. ;)

You dont have to use the range as well.

That will result in on contact explosion,

Depends... I have measured 34 and 22 meters. First for the far back of the lower corridors, where Supports that don't nadespam like to sit. And teh latter figure is the position most used in the upper corridors where nades can't reach the defenders).

As stated above. The key thing is though is remembering the range doesnt change while you're zoomed in. To get the range of a new target you will have to zoom out and back in again. These rockets are by far the best way to flush people out from cover, and very useful for tagging rooftop campers.

funny, i have used my rocket so many times but the bfhq says i have 0 kills and 0 deaths and 0% accuracy using it. bugged stats...

from the back of the top vents (the spot with the windows overlooking the entrance to the reactor core) you can hit the back wall of the catwalk, damaging people waiting to pop around the corner and attack.. timing is everything, as usually I don't end up getting my three rockets off before he LMG's me to death..

its very possible to kill with one rocket.. the problem with that is that if your target is smart and your single shotting with the rockets, they definately have time to excape before the next rocket reaches them if you don't kill with that first one. Which is why i generally say just screw it and fire all 3:)

in titan mode, the pk rockets really are evil:) especially if your commander throws a UAV over the titan.

Rockets are fast enough reload with the nerfed splash damage (thanx BF2 noob tubers) I find unloading all 3 rockets into target vent works best, target normally dead by second rocket.

I wouldnt be supprised if i had in fact got at least HALF my voss kills as being the pk rocket.

I adore this weapon. Myr4n and I have an ongoing conversation about whether 'real players' use the rockets or grenades.

So some tips I have:
- When zooming in on enemy cover always add 1-2 mouse wheel clicks forward to make sure the rockets are over the targets head when they explode

- Use enemy supply and medic crates. When these crates are dropped by enemies the range will appear on your 3d-map. You can set the range without breaking cover and take out the bad guys huddling around the crate.

- Use range: Its hard to really give accurate steps to do 150+ meter lob shots but play around and get a feel for it. These little wonders are lethal anywhere after 20 meters.

- Aim for their face: If you are faced with a rushing enemy remember that this is a solid explosive projectile. Meaning that it will essentially act like a bullet if it hits something before its detonation range. Go for the head shot

I too love this weapon, in the past few weeks I have just started to get the angles right for this weapon naturally, lobbing over low buildings exploding on other side of roof, I have even got some good kills off back of Titan to the silos below on Suez!

There is no better weapon as a sniper counter, up on the hills on Sidi no problem, towers on verdun, easy even if the are round the other side.

Great for defending the Titan matched with voss.

That's because for some reason they count PK-74 kills to the assault rifle you're using, not the PK-74 itself. So if you have, for example, 50 PK-74 kills and 30 AR kills, it will show 80 kills for that AR. I have yet to kill anybody with the Baur, yet it shows I've killed a number of them with it solely because of the PK-74

well, perhaps ea should upgrade and tweak their stats page then...
