I was looking at the News Ticker in 2142 and it said something about a BF 2142 NS beta test you can join at www.combatstudios.com
Also if you look in the community Tab in 2142 the last sentance menionts a BF 2142 NS beta.

Anyway I checked the site I could not see anthing there?

Edit It's actually www.combattesting.com (Stupid fast moving news ticker) and on the site it says invite only however in the community tab it says "Watch this space for information on how to join the beta" so I guess theres a chance.

I don't think you have to create new accounts on some site just to enter a Beta. Or maybe you do? Well, only time will tell.

They can't be that good. On the front page the advertised that they once tested patch 1.3 for Battlefield 2. If so, they are responsible for a freak patch that never should have come to being. Quality control might not be the best there either.

you can't enter, they pick names out of a really really large hat. After names are chosen two hired goons come to your house install NS and hold you at glove slap point and make you play it. They then force a 20 page review from you and leave.

The open Beta for 2142 there was two Beta versions beta1 and beta2. I didn't get into the first one but did on the second as they added more people. If they do the same thing for NS then maybe more of us can get in.

Jblankster, you're 15 rite? That means you can't join as you hve to give a Non-Disclosure Agreement(NDA), which is not legally binding unless you're 18+. Therefore, you would have no consequences if you blabbed, and therefore they won't let you in is my bet.

I applied and got an invite, thats how!:) Yeah, they need your address, your phone number, a bunch of other stuff, which they state will be needed for drawing up legal papers for the NDA. So, yeah, that's why I said that. Because if you just got kicked, the info's still out there, and that can be a problemo. NDA's work better.

You kiddos would get bored with beta testing pretty fast even if accepted, which I doubt you will be, unless you lie about your age :cool: No company I know accepts betas <18yo, and no company I know accepts betas without signing NDA (certainly not EA).

Beta testing ain't just fun and games, it's hard, repetitive work, and - I am speaking from experience - can quite oftenly make the game you loved the most hated piece of software ever :rolleyes:

Imagine playing same map over and over and over and over for hours, like, only for 2 minutes at the time, trying to hunt some bug that, for example, appears only when 20th kill in a round happens? Be careful what you wish for, and leave beta testing to highly motivated, experienced volunteers (and paid professionals)

There is a very large amount of Oversight and Control in this beta. If you cannot stand organized problem solving as part of a team with others, dont apply.

the games are tested in order to find the maximum amount of glitches, bugs and thing that just don't look or seem right. but i guess for many people its just enough because they want it their way and not in a way that is fun for everyone

Wow the email asks for quite alot of personal information, i mean im fine with giving it to companies i know i can trust but i dont know what to think about this, ive been invited but when i really think about it, i wont out enough time in to play anyway, works a killer atm and i can see with me giving out this info that i may become the real Bourne identity.

I think i will stick to just BF2142 for now, the way i see it, Beta testing is going tpo have no effect anyway since CT are the same people who did Patch 1.3 and we all know that was the most Uber patch we have ever seen :rolleyes:

Is it just me or is no one comprehending just because you get an email saying you were invited has absoluetly no effect on if you actually get into the beta test. For all those that are trying to apply and ARE under the age of 18, I hope you have an old sounding voice. These people mean business, they will interview you on Teamspeak as it says.

Holy ****, why is everybody insulting Combat Testing? They are some of the greatest people out there. It's just that Dice ignores most of the beta tester input, and/or they don't bother to fix the reported bugs.
