Judging by playing it would you buy it?
( sry if this is not allowed by all means lock it, i dont really know, i dont know the NDA)
and yes i know its in the ealry stages but i just want an opinioin;)

This is NOT a beta forum.
Those who are participating in the beta are under a strict NDA (non-disclosure agreement) and they are not allowed to discuss details of the beta.
I think whether they like it or not would count as a detail!
I think whether they like it or not would count as a detail!
I completely disagree, its not a detail, its an opinion. An opinion in itself that is nothing to do with the beta, but more to do with the persons feelings.
To answer thread question, definately...

Actually, most NDAs dont even allow beta testers to reveal the knowledge that they are participating in the beta, so it could still be breaking NDA.

Lol, I can say the answer to that, but thats breaking NDA AGAIN..
(the irony is that I just did break it...)

playing NS is great and i will buy it. very intense, very fun. cant say more though. sorry
I'm still struggling to understand why having an opinion on the unlocks *which i have seen now* should be so frowned on.
1). I'm not a beta tester, i just ACCIDENTALLY came across a thread which had screenshots.
2). I have not signed anything to say i will not talk about the game, infact because of this i am technically ALLOWED to. So how exactly can it be illegal for me to talk about it in any way shape or form?
At the end of the day they are unlocks.. and the game is a booster pack. Whats with all the secrecy? What purpose does the NDA serve to the public? Should we not ALL be allowed to voice our opinions on something we will end up paying for?

Short answer: Because the forums rules say so.
I agree with you, but asking these questions will lead nowhere but to a thread lock: http://www.totalbf2142.com/forums/showthread.php?t=17356

How many times do we have to explain this?

I posted this somewhere else here...
I was so pissed that EA/dice jumped into 2142 shortly after releasing bf 2...
I said "I WOULD NEVER BUY 2142"
But guess what. I sure as hell did!!! And 2142 is WHAT BF2 should have been, And I will continue to buy the next BP, or expansions.
So yes if bf2142 was that good, then I will get NS
How many times do we have to explain this?
So it's more to do with EA/DICE threatning not to post on your forum if you speak out? Seems a little silly that i have no way of voicing my opinions of the booster pack by discussing it in depth.
Everyone knows the second EA/DICE release it they will refuse to support it correctly. Why do you think i'm so pissed at not having a say!

If you really want to know Talus, it is because the answers often come in the form "Because of this" followed by a threadlock, no counterarguments allowed.
Thats not going to convince anybody.
While I can not question the mods right to decide what may be posted on the forums, that doesn't mean that their opinion is infallible.

To the people here who are openly saying they will buy it because it is so good:
Testers are not to reveal themselves as testers under threat of being booted out of the program. NDA comes into play too...

Since you keep revealing info from the NDA you have revealed yourself to be a tester.
So are you man enough to take the consequence of your violation, or is it all talk?
Well?

Actually I havnt revealed myself at all, I could have gotten this information from anywhere (and if I did I would not need to disclose the source of that information). Plus in any post I have made I have not revealed myself as a tester and continue not to. I guess you will just have to keep guessing. :)

No you couldn't, unless you yourself have taken part in a NDA breach.
Or are you saying that the NDA is not secret? Then you should have no problem posting it here.
If you cant do that then we must assume that either:
a) You haven't actually seen it
b) You have seen it and took part in a NDA violation.
c) You have received it as a tester and breaks NDA by revealing parts of it.
a) Would make you a troll
b) Would make you a hypocrite when you criticise others for seeking the info
c) Would make you a hypocrite when you criticise others for leaking info
If you answer is "I don't have to prove anything" then we don't have to take you serious either.

One did not apply, because one does not currently have the time to do a decent Beta test :)
Take a look at this, and you will understand why one became slightly annoyed.

Nothing there but complains of NDA violations, mostly at people hinting that they are testers, but not disclosing any info.
Now compare these two quotes, and tell me he is not a hypocrite:
Im 16 and was accepted a few days ago.
If I was you I would shutup, you have disclosed yourself as a tester and are underage, you could quite easily be kicked out.

Sorry about the derailment, but it is really hard to avoid in this case.
As you can see, you can not ask any questions about the Beta without causing complaints of NDA violations.
So the track is not really leading anywhere.

we coulda had simple answers of just yes or no, would have avoided the delama alot, or someone could have told me earlyer or this thread could have been locked or something, ( i hate seeing people argue in forums, so annoying, sifting through to find the good bits gets annoying)
come to think of it i shoulda made a poll, then no one would need to write anything
Or maybe this whole NDA crap should be lifted and we should ALL get a say in what goes into OUR new booster pack.
What are EA/DICE afraid of? Someone stealing their ideas? Oh please....

It isnt 'ours' until it has been released and we have paid for it or perhaps EA could post up some info on what else they are currently working on and we'll give them some advice, maybe save them the bother of employing people at all? Maybe we could review the lunch menu in the cantene for them whilst we are at it?
EA will have paid someone who earns a lot of money to work out what the best way of going about this process is, it is somewhat curious though. Are you infact simply being the victim of a very cheap marketing trick?
After the BF2 boosters it wouldnt to me appear a brilliant idea to try and sell more to what is essentially the same community. However these NDA breaches/leaks are having the effect of generating a lot of interest in Northern Strike and its not costing anyone any money to generate the interest, infact i would assume the NDA must include some form of clause that would allow EA to reclaim any finacial losses incured if they suffered any via a breach of such an agreement making it a low risk venture.
People are so desperate to talk about it and yet all we actually know is very little of any substance, i dont think i would base a review of a map having seen just a corner of it nor would i comment on a weapon after having read a ten word summary of it. Yet people are desperate to.
The moderators, acting correctly, also add to this self induced hype by putting the subject on a high pedestal, cant have it so you want it even more.
I wouldnt say the leaks are coming from EA but i would question whether or not they accesed the risks of leaks and found that they would be more beneficial than harmful if they were to occur.
You cant question the need for an NDA but you can question how its being used.
Yet time after time EA prove they are incapable of listening to the problems and insist on creating more. Why not just have an open beta rather then excluding lots of players that ACTUALLY want to help.
It should be a requirement that beta testers HAVE to post back at least 5 Likes/Dislikes Bugs/Imbalances otherwise what are they 'testing' it for?

Well, i can no longer say whether i am a beta tester or not, but i can mention my opinion.
I always give in. I doubted i would like the booster before i knew much about it and soon after the screenshots were leaked i knew i was right. But in the end, its 'battlefield' so i will end up buying whether i like it or not.
It was the same for euro forces. I knew i wouldnt like that all that much, but guess what... i bought it.
