Dice stated that at the latest it would be late march i think.

So this means march....2008.

Dice says "March of 2007", that means it'll be out next week...

amazon still says March 8th ... but there is a gazillion things that might go wrong in the next month ... so I wouldnt count too much on that date.

Don't know why amazon would list it, the game is exclusive to EA Link last we heard.

This is my first battlefield game, so I've got a question:

Does EA traditionally honor release dates or do they keep pushing them back (generally speaking)?

well amazon.de s release date was correct for BF2:SF but wrong for BF2:EF ... no idea about AF ...

I assume the current beta patch 1.2 is the "sync" patch for NS sooo ... 1 month sounds reasonable if they dont run into any major problems with the NS field test

BF2: EF and AF were both exclusive to EA Link. Only recently were they both packaged up and sold together retail. Special Forces was retail obviously because it's an expansion.

DICE are pretty good at hitting dates, might get pushed back but I think it will hit in march.

ghhh ... educate yourself before arguing ... there where countries (eg Germany) where EA sold the empty EF and AF boxes with a download code inside ... if you insist ill take a picture of mine  and its just the same way this time ...
lookie: amazon.de (http://www.amazon.de/Battlefield-2142-Northern-Strike-Boosterpack/dp/B000MV8YTQ/sr=8-1/qid=1169827180/ref=sr_1_1/303-7331583-6285826?ie=UTF8&s=videogames) € 9.85
(heh .. actually cheaper than EA link .. now thats funny  )

I did not know that, but I also didn't know you were from Germany. Did the booster packs make it to retail in UK?

for BF2, no, only recently we have had a "Gold Edition" of BF2, that has BF2, EF and AF, and you have to by SF seperately, of course, this is a pile of BS, as that the Gold costs MORE than BF2 did.

good lord ... HERE! I had it one day BEFORE the actual release date on EA Downloader (aka Link).
No Bundle 6 Months later, no "EA link only", no "Gold package" ...
