Heh, very true, but imagine the spammers, SL's would throw down beacons on actual spawn points and people would join his squad just to spawn quicker, ugh. makes things harder.

Go into BFHQ if you have the beta patch installed, and click on the new SL beacon icon, and look at the clock on the pic that comes up on the right! It's very noticible!

PS: you may need a higher graphics display, or even higher resolution.

1337 is "leetspeak" for leet (aka elite). Leetspeak is a gaming lingo that has died out and is more just for grins and giggles. Think of it sorta like text message short hand but from 1998 :P

Generally the term leet (1337) is used to refer to something thats very good, or just plain awesome. Be it someones skills or a new movie you just saw last night.
