Could NASA computers Alt + Tab without crashing?

My guess is know as it seems completely down to crappy coding, does any1 have a fix for this or is it going to be another on the EA wishlist?

I've been able to alt-tab out.

Likely because my system is really clean and I run my in-game resolution at same size as my desktop.

BTW, I've never CTDed yet either.

Have you disabled intro movies? More accurately the DICE logo intro movie. Putting that back fixed alt tabbing for me.

To minimize?! CTRL+ESC is what I use. No problems in any game whatsoever.

A lot of people can alt+tab without crashing... not coding. It just depends on your computer. Some computers like alt+tabbing out of fullscreen apps with a heavy toll on system resources and some don't.

i alt-tab all the time when updating my sig.. and or when doing other stuff...

I have never had a prob with Alt-Tabbing on 2142. I do try to also keep it clean by running adaware weekly. I also do a disk cleanup/disk defrag before I install any programs. Ever .... Alllllwaaaaays!

I have only ever had maybe 5 CTD's during gameplay on 2142 in the 300 hrs. Now CTD's when I hit the "Join Game" button is a whole other can of worms ..... :(

I can live with the CTD's, but what really irks me to no end is the server crashes which makes you lose everything for that round. :mad: (of course I would LOVE to not have to live with the CTD's period LOL)

I replaced my movies and that seemed to work well, I still crash about 30% of the time though when I alt-tab. If alt-tabbing doesn't work for you, try hitting the windows key, I've only been doing it for the past week or so, but it used to work for me all the time when alt-tab didn't (on other games I mean)

I have a very high top of the end machine and i never CTD or lag, sometimes i can alt + tab for hours, yet sometimes i can go for 2 seconds and then its not going to open again.

everytime i go to my desktop while playing the game crash. like when i was playing having my best round of my life, and then something pops-up and then took me to desktop to see what it is, and when i try to go back the whole screen goes black..and the sound is repeating itself, yea it freeze...very bad coding indeed.

I used to get alt-tab problems all the time, now with only DICE.bik in there, it works fine. :hmm:

I never crash when alt - tabbing.

I even alt - tabbed between 2142 and css at one point, never crashed

bf2142 = the first program I've ever seen in my life that doesn't let you ctrl/alt/delete out of the game at random times.
