First off, I'm relatively new to 2142. This stuff may happen all the time, but I just found it pretty smarmy.
So I join a Titan match in progress and spawn on the Titan. There's plenty of shields left when I hear "reactor console #1 destroyed". What? Not too much later there goes reactor console #2. Now I'm not an expert on the game, but with the shields up there's only one way to take our reactor consoles, and that is if your own team is doing it. Friendly fire must be turned on and I suspect that auto-balance was turned off because of what happened later.
So I run down to reactor console #3 and yup, three demo charges on it and BOOM, I'm dead. With my death, though, comes the name of the demo planter right there on the screen. Someone named "mygOt silverw4re".
Still dazed at what's going on, I respawn and head back down to corridor #4, but boom, there goes that reactor console before I'm halfway there. Now a little miffed, I hit the Tab key to find this guy. And guess what, he's now on the other team.
The rest of the round lasts just a couple minutes as the Titan is stormed and the reactor is quickly destroyed.
So the next round starts and there is the guy again on my team. And there he is running around the corridors. But this time he seems a bit confused because the corridors are filled with my team trying to find out who's killing our Titan from the inside. I chase the guy down, and he just stands there, clearly knowing what I didn't know, but would soon learn.
After I TK'd him 3 times, I got kicked by Punkbuster. Strangely, though, this guy is team-killing Titans and he doesn't get kicked.
So afterwards I hit the BF2142 website to check on the guy. And while I found several "mygOt" somethings, he's not there. But when I try just plain "silverw4re", there is this guy with 50+ suicides in less than a day of playing, with a Titan assault badge as his latest achievement. Simple strategy; blow a console, commit suicide to resupply and do it again.
I wouldn't even mention it, but team killing a Titan blows the whole round for a lot of players. And if Punkbuster or the servers don't kick guys for blowing up their own reactor consoles, then that is a problem that I think needs to be fixed ASAP.
