View Full Version : Pre-Order Problem - BF2142 not registered

The EA link tells me that BF2142 is not registered to my account so i can't buy the booster.

Anyone have any idea how to resolve this? I didn't buy 2142 from EA but from retail.

I'm an idiot. I created a new EA account instead of using my soldier details from 2142.

Excuse my thread. Move along now please, there's nothing for you here.

Just make sure you are logged in to the same EA Account you use when playing BF2142 while doing your preorder - the Booster Pack can only be used with that same account.

You're getting ripped off for not pre-ordering. It's gonna be awesome. Just like BF2, and BF2142..bugs or no bugs.

You know what? This is not made at all clear any time through the registration process. If you D/L and use EA link for the first time it tells you to put in an email address as your username. It says NOTHING about using a BF2142 soldier name.

This is going to confuse a lot of people.

What's even more annoying is that clicking for support and then contact to get a phobne number to talk to someone requires a login. It's frankly shameful purchasing experience.

I even had my credit card company call me today to confirm that the extra £1 validation debit from my CC was OK or not (it's not).

Terrible terrible experience considering how good it is with Steam.

Ripped off? £5.99 is like one hours worth of work, as far as i'm concerned if it entertains me for 1 hour i'll have got my monies worth, but thanks for your words of wisdom, I don't know what i'd do without your kind of attitude..., maybe lead a happier existance.

why do you need to preorder it? i doubt someone is gonna steal your copy of the game

Does that mean we don't have to fool around with gamespy accounts etc. like in the BF2 boosters? Because that was a horrible mess!

Nobody is forcing you into buying anything. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Everyone is free to make their own choices and have their opinions and unless YOU are paying their game, then they are free to spend their money on whatever they want.

Excellent thank you. I had never considered that my soldier login details for 2142 would activate or work with EA link. To all intents and pruposes they are two separate processes - registering the game and geting unlocks versus purchasing software. I even tend to use separate emails for these two jobs as I's always consider the game to be more likely to generate spam than a credit card purchase.
