In some countries this is apparently true. The BF2 boosters were released in germany for example.
I'm not sure what currency that is, but if [(50/349) = (x/99)], NS will probably sell on US shelves for $15.
Either way, I never bought the BF2 booster packs because of that EAL/EAD crap. If this ends up on store shelves for $10 or $15, I'll probably get it.

I'm not gonna get, enless it $5 then maybe. Just for the peole who complain about EA link. I dont play the game that much anymore anyway with school and work. I'd rather get quick rounds with my CS:S clan that wait all day for 2142.

In Germany, there were boxed copies of the BF2 booster packs, but there was no disc in the box, only a key to be entered into EA Downloader.

;)
 Well, maybe not then... Does this mean you'll need to keep EAL loaded whenever you play NS?
If the boxed version is just a different payment method for using EAL, screw it.

Remember, Germany has laws that forced EA to make disk copies for the the German BF2 community. Thats why AF and EF werent sold as disks until Dec. 2006 in North America and around the world. When they were first released the booster packs could ONLY be bought over EA Downloader. The same thing is most likely going to happen with Northern Strike.

If the boxed version is just a different payment method for using EAL, screw it.I bought both BF2 booster packs via EA Downloader and didn't have to run it in the background to play the booster packs. It installs the additional maps and informs the Battlefield master server that you have bought the booster packs, allowing you to play on them.

More countries are going to sell this game through prepaid codes (with box and all).
