After patching to 1.20, I now have the Northen Strike unlocks I earned in the beta test program. I also had 8 unlocks saved up prior to the patch, which are still available and I can now select more Northern Strike unlocks now if I like. Cool patch, huh?
Think about the issues this is going to create. Example: I just played a round at Camp Gib and was able to fire off 4 PK rockets with the NS assault unlock and land with less damage from a fall/jump with the boots unlock. So people that have some unlocks currently available can choose the NS unlocks now, but what about the Generals out there that have used all the unlocks up and don't buy NS? They get screwed by others that used saved up unlocks to get the extras, but don't buy NS.
This is just one example of how many players are now at a disadvantage due to the 1.20 patch. I'm sure that this is really going to piss alot of people off!

So you can shoot an extra rocket, and since you're an assault guy anyway, you could have healed yourself with a medic hub even if you didn't have the boots (and you didn't bother to open your parachute).
Um...actually...no, I don't see how people are going to get all that bent out of shape about it.
I really don't think the unlocks are going to make anybody uber-leet, with the possible exception of the IDS-1.

They can be field unlocked anyway, so you're only really at an advantage over people who have just joined the server. And the lone wolves and poor squads, of course.

Sorry Snugg, I fail to see hte connection between the uber unlocks and the disadvantage. Seems like it's more meaningful to you than anyone else, at least that is the way it is presented (it's a psychological thing).

I see that the only advantage wwould be to those that just bought the game itself. People will still kick your little ace with the standard weapons anyway.

Is there a way to edit the local server/single player settings to test out the NS unlocks? I don't think the current programs will be compatible with 1.2 patch

From what i have heard, Dice/EA are on the case as we speak.

Wow snug you’re one special guy, guess what – sooner or later people will be getting the NS unlocks and using them in vanilla games and like others have said for those too cheap to buy the $9 booster can unlock them with field upgrades.

Guess I did sensationalize things a bit. I just found it curious that NS unlocks were available before NS is released.

probably the same case as with the BF2:SF ulocks. Since you've played NS, it's registered your name as owning it and thus, the system allows you to keep and unlock NS stuff :)

Well, since I already have two unlocks saved up and NS comes out in a week, enjoy your "advantage" while you can.

Yea same here, I have NS unlocks from beta... but I'm sure they will go bye bye when NS is released. Sad because I don't really want to pay $10 for maps I don't really like much and a handful of decent unlocks (half of them stink) in order to use them. Wish I could pay $5 just for the unlocks only. I'd do that! .... oh well, guess I'll have a reason to get squad leader points again! LOL.
