It's a new fix to prevent CTDs, it blows up in your face so it doesn't have a chance to hit Alt-F4 on your keyboard.

Otus keeps killing me too...you must deploy it while standing still and in the wide open with nothing above you and on ground level. Stairs, upper levels, hallways, or going over uneven terrain while deploying kills you. So instead of the funny surfing we have a frustrating way to die.

Thank you for pointing this "drune bug" out in it's own thread. DICE, can you just do a quick patch to get rid of your so called "fix" for the drone exploit? You traded one minor problem and replaced it with a MAJOR one. I played 1 game this morning (Titan/Sidi) and tried a dozen or so times to get an Otus working...This resulted in several "you wasted your time" self-destructs and even worse was the Otus "Chair Shot" to my dome (Instant Death).

DICE, I really like that you are proactive when it comes to hacks, cheats, and exploits...You missed the mark by a mile this time. You had testing, and I know this bug was reported. So, why introduce a problem that is 1000 times worse than the one you "fixed"?

This bug has been reported many times in the closed and open beta of 1.2 :(. 1.2 should not have been released with this known bug. I hope 1.21 follows FAST.

look directly upwards when placing the otus/accipter and you'll have no problems. for some reason, looking upwards works.

Didn't our Mom tell us all not to yank on things when they get stuck? It just makes the situation even harder and you'll likely get yourself into a bigger jam.

Were you outside when you did that or inside a building? When I'm out side and look straight up it has worked every time. Haven't tried it inside a building or inside the Titan so I can't say about that.

look straight up while deploying and YOU WILL NOT DIE.

doesn't fix the bug, but it is a way around it. i use the otus on pretty much every spawn and i have had 0 deaths in the past 3 weeks or so i have been doing this.... 100+ deploys...

this works in the titan... in buildings... and with low ceilings.... and on uneven terrain.
