Not sure if this is in the right section but here it is.
I have recently downloaded the dedicated server app for 2142. I want to start a server for me and my squad to practice and screw around on.
I have three comps in my house wired through one router. The only problem I have is that I need to know which ports if any on my network hub need to be open for people to access from the outside(TCP,UDP, or both).
Any help would be appreciated, especially from server owners.

I wish I could help you, but I rent my server so I have no idea what ports need to be forwarded for it to function.

Here's a good question for you nerd, what would be the maximum player amount for a 1mbit upstream connection?

Here's a good question for you nerd, what would be the maximum player amount for a 1mbit upstream connection?I know half-life takes 5Kb/s upload per player, BF2142 probably more just because you want to be sure. I'd say you'd be safe running 32 easily, maybe a 48 titan, just to be sure...
Sorry Voop, no help for you, lol

The port settings were in one of the readme files from installation there are quite a few ports that are used.
To host your own server you will also need to set port forwarding on your router to the hosting machine if you want to access it externally. There should be some documentation on your router's manufacturers website if you are unsure of how to do this.

I have no idea. MyIS gives us a 100Mbit connection and that's enough for 120+ slots, but it's probably overkill.

put the dedicated computer into a DMZ on your router.
