My first thought was: Why on earth dont we have a flashbang in this game..

I mean, flashbangs is great. I will choose this nade before any other nade, anytime, anywere. So why isnt there any flashbangs in the game.

Then my second thought was: I wonder how it would look when you got 48 players in a titan, all with flashbangs.....

I guess Im happy there isnt any of these..

There is no reason for flash bangs in this game, if you see someone you kill them, you dont need to make sure there hostile or not. + u can use EMP grenades as flash bangs.

True, EMPs are like the Flash Bangs of the 22nd centuary, because whenever I get EMPed I tend to hide somewhere until it stops because it's extremely hard to see when you've got EMPed.

Yup, the flashbangs are gone because EMP's perform the same function. It's incredibly annoying to get EMP'ed and without your crosshair it can be difficult to fight back even if you can see the enemy.

Hm what would you like the flashbangs to do? Disorient and confuse I guess? Only added effects I can think of, is modifying the smoke grenade. Make the smoke grenade slow movement speed and drain stamina in the smoke cloud or radius around the grenade.

EMP is a bit different though. They disable electronics, stop vehicles, disable active camo AND make the screen wavy. Perhaps a modified smoke grenade could make the screen wavy for players, but not act as a full emp charge. In additional to the slowed movement and drained stamina.

Basically the smoke grenade if buffed would fit the bill for a flashbang moreso than an EMP. And the smoke grenades need a buff anyway...

I am going to make a new acronym for this thread : D2D = Discussed/Done To Death

This topic has been D2D.

Did CS have a flashbang? I'm wondering where people are getting the idea from. I don't think 1942/Viet/2 series had them.

imo Tear gas / flashbangs have a civilian law enforcement tactical type application (trying to stun and disorient criminals to storm or rescue hostages).

In a Military context, soliders are trained to KILL. A flash bang is more of a protect and rescue aid, not really a hardcore kill solider thing.

Still...buff the smoke grenade!

BF2 did, but it was an unlock.

Oh, I have a little blue tac dot on the center of my laptop screen, which acts as my crosshair during times of heavy disorientation ;)

EMPS ARE NOT FLASHBANGS!

If I get EMP'd I can still see where the enemy is, just a bit fuzzy. I canstill kill him with my gun by spraying and praying in his direction. I can still throw frags. I can still turn the other way and run.

With a flashbang, it would completely black out the screen and I wouldn't be able to do any of those.

I always have to look away from my screen when I get EMPed, especially at night when I'm tired. That's more effective than FBs I guess.

The crosshair disappears for as long as a flashbang in BF2 lasted, then there's the HUD scrambling for a long time. I personally don't see any use for EMP grenades outside disabling vehicles, why not toss a frag grenade instead? Even if you run out of frags, you're support, you have unlimited ammo. In BF2 the flashbangs made sense because Assault didn't have frags, they had the noobtoob, which didn't always work the same way.
