View Full Version : Getting kills that aren't yours
Has anyone ever got kills that weren't even yours? I didn't even shoot any bullets and I got 2 kills in a row the other day. There were no enemies even near me. Also, I have seen myself getting killed by other people, and yet I am still alive, and there are no enemies even near me.
What's up with that? Is that a stats bug or something? Anyone else experienced that before? :confused:

I was being killed by a guy from another server repeatedly yesterday. He was in the server I had just left for the server I was playing in and it said he killed me over 4 times throughout the round, but thats the worst case of kills/deaths that didn't happen I've ever had.

I had 167 the other day??? I was commander in the titan on the bombardment gun, I did get a few peeps with it but not that many.

I have a Zeller kill but I have never fired a shot of it. I also have two Titan road kills that I don't know how I got from.

Yes, that is what I'm talking about. It happened to me quite a bit after patch 1.10.

I haven't experienced it in 2142 but in battlefield 2. I had a message saying so and so killed me when i was quite happily running around :) my guess is its a bug with the engine

I have around 46 of these. =P I'm really curious as to what counts as a roadkill for the Titan and what the conditions are. Would be nice to get some Wheels of Hazard pins from it. =P

I saw that for the first time a few days ago. I was hanging out on the Titan going for repair points and gunning when there was nothing else to to and I kept getting "You were killed by.." messages though they didn't show up in my score and I was not actually killed.
Weird.

No, it is a stated fact.
When you sit in the guns and fire on a, say tank, and it begins to burn, people tend to bail out. But if they are too close to the tank when it explodes they will get killed in the blast, creating roadkills. Hence it is possible to get Titan roadkills.
And I suppose the people in the guns when the titan goes up could count as roadkills too.

I've been running across the map before and had it pop up, "You killed so-and-so" twice within 5 minutes right after entering a server and not firing a shot or dropping any explosives.

What? I wasn't QUESTIONING the mechanics of a roadkill... I know that if a person is killed by an exploding vehicle, it's counted as a roadkill. There are many scenarios, and I was merely asking (if anyone knew) of which scenarios count for roadkill. The Titan isn't your everyday vehicle. =P
But whatever, it doesn't really matter.

The only way I get kills that aren't mine is if someone blasts a whole clip into someone and some how doesn't manage to kill the bad guy. Then I take it upon myself to help the poor guy out and snatch his kill.

I layed some RDX by our silo, I waited near by and a FAV drove up, the RDX detonated without me detonating it and I got 5 kills and 9 points in total from it, wierd but still, free points :p

Could have been someone elses RDX detonating your RDX by accident.
