View Full Version : Amazing turn arounds

I just finished a round where my team were hopelessly outgunned on every point. On the ground, they owned us. In the air, they owned us. On the titan, they owned us.
This is unbelievable but true. We had a thin sliver of titan health remaining, and they still had half their shields. My squad, were defending our titan, getting our asses handed to us, whilst other squads were desperately trying to get control of the silos.
My squad and i finally decided it was enough and decided to attack the enemy titan. We had 5% of titan hull health left whilst the enemy had 50% shields. We podded down and started to help the other squads out a bit in capping silos. We manage at least 3 before the enemy shields went down.
My squad raced post haste to the enemy titan along with at least 2-3 other guys. We destroyed consoles so fast that i could barely keep up. I managed to get console 2 only to find that less than 30 seconds later, the other three consoles were down. As soon as i finished the first console, 2, i started to head for 4. I didnt make it, as it blew soon after i got to the entrance. I then turned my direction to 1, whereby it suddenly blew.
Finally i raced to console 3 to only get as far as the entrance to the corridor before it too blew. Upon turning around at LEAST 6-7 guys stormed the enemy titan's core room and within no more than 30 seconds, the core was gone. We all managed to get down to the ground for the pin, having faced at most 5-6 enemies the entire time.
Its amazing how rounds can be turned around from flat out failure to extremely close victory. Rounds like these occur so rarely its not funny.

Rounds like that are what make the game worth playing. I'd rather lose a close round then win in a landslide any day.

I agree to that...
Team work always make you go somewhere...
Well done soldier.

I had a lesser case of that today, big comeback. My three man squad was on defense though. They had blown all consoles and were rushing into the reactor when they met my new toy: The Clark. Held off wave after wave allowing the guys on the ground get silos to slowly destroy their hull (we gave up attacking since they were raping us on their titan) and ended losing, 10 seconds after ours died theres did too, but I still got the loss, lol

I might be sounding like a broken record by now, but the possibility of this happening, and each team's need to realize the possibility, is exactly why I'll play Belgrade, Tunis, Verdun, Sidi, or Titan before I'll play Camp G, Berlin, or Cerbere. Viva la revolucion!!!

i always love the titan games where both titans blow up in the ending sequence, though an amazing comeback like that has got to make you smile

I had a ripper of a gameplay tonight I have to share it, its times like now which make this game worthwhile.
I went commander on Cerbere Landing on the EA side and my team got pounded in the first minute. I thought the game would be over within 2 minutes flat. Anyway I managed to regroup my squads and started working with them over Voip, we only had the command center left and I told them to defend it and not worry about other flags. Through fantastic communication and hard work, we won by about 10 tickets, great round! Especially since it was a public server and we were versing an almost full clan. That was my comback of the day!
Oh and to make this day even better, I played on and later got the titan attack gold (which I've been trying for a while now). Cept this time I was playing normaly without trying for it, then it popped up on the screen and a second later the enemy titan was blow. Let the good times role! :D:D:D

I had exactly the same experience 2 days ago in a Minsk round (32 players pubbie). I joined the game halfway. Our hull was down to the last edge and the other was 50%. Than our side succeeded to cap all the 5 silos and keep them. I was so concentrated that their hull was destroyed before I even noticed. After that the chat buzzed around with "Awesome comback" "Great Stuff Guys" "****ing Awesome" etc.
Very rewarding both in points and satisfaction and it proves how important it is that not all rush to the enemy titan when shields are down.

Awesome story. I love it when stuff like that happens (unless I'm on the losing side)
The trick to total Titan destruction domination is to have a recon waiting in front of the shields for consoles 3 and 4. The very instant 1 and 2 go down, in less than 10 seconds you can have 3 and 4 down as well. They don't know what hit 'em!

It's one of the reasons I love playing titan mode.
I've been in that position many times, it feels incredible to win through at the end.

A while back I was playing a game on Belgrade, the side I was on was pretty much stomping the other team. Badly. My buddy showed up and got assigned to the losing side, of course. So I swapped sides over to them, and we made about the most dramatic comeback I've ever seen. When I switched over, the winning side had a ticket advantage of around 140 tickets, and things were heading for a quick end... but we dragged that fight out with everything we had from that point, and it went on for another good 20 minutes. Ultimately, we still lost, but by the time it was all done, they had won with only 14 tickets left themselves.

wow, just had an amazingly intense round today...
we had ~20% hull left, the enemy titan had 75%, and they had 4 out of 5 silos, both reactor doors were open. i bring a support kit to the enemy titan and joined a few people from other squads in attacking. there was a messy firefight in the reactor room which ended in a lot of people from both sides dying, but a medic on our side saved the day. so there were 4 of us, and i got rezzed with a pilum. so i crawl underneath one of the bulletproof titan walls and start shooting up at the titan core. then instantly 2 support boxes and a medbox came my way, and the 3 teammates proceeded to defend the reactor room so i could do my thing. they all got killed when the enemy's titan hull was ~20% and ours was critical, and 2 enemy snipers came into the room. the dead medic's kit was too far away, so i just stayed there with the pilum bombarding the core with 2 DUMB snipers not realising i was there. so i took out the smg and killed them both, and got my 2nd titan core destroyed. w00t.
and i bagged a guy on his way out, too ^^

City maps are for assault players. Titan mode is for people that like to camp with support on the titan and/or play engineer to use lame tanks. :p

If you say so  - but aren't Belgrade and Tunis considered "city maps"? Or is the lack of tanks what makes a map a "city map" or not (in which case Tunis would still be "city")?
At any rate, I wasn't really separating them based on the environment or the vehicles (or lack thereof) at all, but solely on the setup of the flags (one PAC uncap & the rest EU vs. one uncap each and the rest neutral). For me, THAT's what makes a map fun or not - not what kind of terrain there is or what kind of vehicles are around.
Lucky me, last night I chanced upon a 24/7 Belgrade with a decent ping and spent two hours in heaven! I'll be back, that's for sure.
EDIT: Glad I played on that 24/7 Belgrade as much as I did that night 'cause when I went back last night it had changed to join the ranks of the millions of other servers that are 24/7 Camp G. <sigh> I guess it's a popular map and all, it's just not my favorite (for reasons listed above and elsewhere).
