This mod revolves entirely around the early wars of the EVE Online universe yet in FPS perspective...

This mod is being watched carefully by CCP Games and i am currently in correspondance with them regarding the mod and its authenticity.

This could mean official endorsment a'la Desert Conflict (bf1942), or Counter-Strike (half life)...

Any one with mod experience wo is interested please email me at

newedenmod@hotmail.com (until the mods website emails are ready :))

other wise please visit the official site http://www.newedenmod.com/

and on Friday the 11th the forum will be up for you to share your views :)

thanks all

Yours Hopefully

And what do you mean by that? /:|...

Mate unless theres a reason for a 16 year old to be telling someone 4 years his senior, that he should 'realise what hes getting himself into' then i suggest you elaborate.

I don't take kindly to such curt responses from people that much younger than me.

Calm down, Sonny Jim.

I think he meant there are a whole load of problems with your ideas.

I mean, it's a completely different genre, made by a complete different company.

Eve has huge worlds of space and no hand to hand combat, just ships. Most successful modifications have guns and hand to hand combat.

The editor for 2142 isn't even released yet.

Do you have any prior modding experience?

There is a huge world full of problems ahead.

Agreed. It will be hard to make the mod fun, especially for an FPS game, if people wanna play EVE then they'll get the RPG version :)

agreed

sorry Darth it appears i misinterpreted your intentions. i still think that your comment was curt, regardless of your being in the Sir community. my comment still stands that a little more description on your part might avoid such further incidents.

In reply to you guys'/gals' opinion that this would be hard i agree. however that is part of the appeal. i love eve and i love bf2142, so naturally i thought it would be interesting as a crossover. the battlefield universe would not work as an MMORPG...simple as so how about EVE as an FPS?...

Sounds good to me. I devote all my creativity and gamer experience to making this mod as fun as possible while staying true to the EVE universe. The mod is gonna be a challenge, no doubt, but without a challenge, modding would be far more boring. The change of genre and the switch from agorophobia to claustrophobia is gonna be interesting.

Yes this is only my second mod, and the first mod i can call 'my idea'; but with a bigger team, and some more experience, this could become a very interesting play and something i can use as an example of commitment and, in a way, talent.

I only hope that the end product meets the ultimately high standards of the masses of EVE/BF2142 players.

anyways, enough ranting :)

please let me know if u want in on the alpha, should be ready as an internal alpha (very basic) in about 1 or 2 months (even if it means putting the fighters/soldier classes into bf2 first till the bf2142 editor is out)

Well yes, right now it's pretty hard and not quite as rewarding as you would expect. Sure people will ask you "hey when are you releasing this ?" but when it actually comes out, nobody will care, and unless your mod is really really good, it won't be played for long. (Well even if it is good you aren't sure)
