1 Accounts all Sites

It's not gonna happen for a long long long long long (x1000) time.


Each account is tied to a separate forum (in this case 2142) which has it's own database. In order to have a single account for all you'd have to combine every single one. As of right now, this forum alone has over 315 thousand posts. Multiply that by 4 or 5 (at least) to see what kind of effort it would take. Then you'd have to go through the entire members list (combine all them into one account, make sure it's the same person, etc..) and clear out all the dupes.

Now, how do you suggest a staff of less than 20 people accomplish all that?

Hah my thoughts exactly, but of course I do understand a single account for all sites, and yes that would be much easier. But as Matdef said, if it were to happen at this stage, it would take us some time to do it. It's definitely not out of the picture though.

I solved the problem by picking a current game to register and only visit the other sites looking for updates as in game patches etc.

I wont waste my time trying to register to 12 bazillion bloated websites.

If you figure a way to work it out, maybe send users an email asking if they have any other accounts on the Total websites and reply with which website and what account name (+ Password to verify). And maybe give them 3 weeks to reply or something. Probably completely flawed, but meh.

i probably have no clue what im talking about, but is it possible for all NEW members to have the option of it being a "single" forum account or for all Total forums? and just have it set up somehow to create an account on Each site with the same information? (if you cant somehow make 1 account and tie all changes and things together)
