This has got to be the absolute worst glitch that to many people are using. If a demo pack is strickly used for that sole purpose that is great. But I see to many people hoping around and throwing demo packs for kills NOT to mention the over use of getting into high places without ladders or normal means. But instead, using the demo packs for uses to get into extreme high places and place their squad beacon. This is concidered glitching. I feel there needs to be an update to resolve this glitch issue and limit the power of the demo pack for just the sole purpose it was intended for. There are some servers that are against that issue and they seem to keep control of it for the most part.
But this seems to be an overall type of glitch that some of the higher populated servers (64 peeps) that are allowing this type of game play.
EA needs to do something about this. Its very old and if it is concidered a fair game play then what is to be keeping people from downloading other crap in order to make themselves look good. Everyone knows Punkbuster is so out dated that they can't keep their head on straight. Let alone keep up with todays programmers. Especially when most newer games run on the same engine as the older ones do.
Well enough of the rant.. let the FLAME WAR begin!

Ok, PLAY ON FF ON SERVERS!!!!
and there are far easier ways to get on roofs which isn't considered glitching

You could pod surf onto a roof which will have the same effect anyway ...

Its not glitching a DICE employee said that getting on a roof with normal tactics is ok like landing there with a pod, getting up there with a RDX is not glitching.

Yeah, I agree its not even close to glitching.

Yeah, I agree its not even close to glitching. Agreed, at best it would just be an exploit, but since the server allows this by turning FF off it isn’t even that. But the complaint is a mute point if the author, as the first responder stated, just played FF=ON servers and voila, no more RDX jumping.

Yeah, but like a few people said you can get up there easily on a ff = on server just use the pods

what kind of sane person plays on an rdx-tossing, nadespamming ffoff server?!
that said, those stunt movies showing tanks blasting off a ramp with 75058340 rdxes on its butt are amusing ^^

This so called "glitch" has been a part of BF games since 1942. If FF is off and you stand on some C4 or TnT, you will go very high when detonated without dying. Now, I think there is a way to limit this via the server side to keep people from flying so high in the air from an explosion but I may be mistaken. I know in DC (A BF1942 mod), there was a way to make it so when you kill a person, their body would fly farther if you wanted it to(for effect).
To me, it is more of a minor annoyance and just like the other guy who created a thread complaining about a language filter, I will have to lump this one with that one and call it "trivial". If you play on a FF off server, you will have to deal with it so my suggestion is that you play on FF on servers. I think it is funny. You ***** about a guy taking advantage of FF being off but how about the fact that you can run under your own arty when FF is off? How about rushing the enemy when you know your buddy just threw a grenade at them? You know you will not die so is that not taking advantage of FF being off? That is what these so called "glitchers" are doing. How about c4 tossing and killing 3 guys no more than an inch in front of you but you live because FF is off?
In other words, stop bitching, play on a FF on server and I will see you back here in a week complaining about how many times you were Tk'd because FF was on.
Clarity is intoxicating isn't it?

Its like rocket-jumping back in Quake and Team Fortress games. Perfectly acceptable.

You can't reach the very high bldgs with the c4 exploit on FoB. Now, they do work great on Gibby though.

*Major Snip*
Only way to prevent people from doing this is to turn FF on. There aren't any other server settings that I'm aware of in regards to limiting people who do this.
On another note, FF off servers are lame. The biggest lamers of all are the RDX tossing noobs. FF ON FTW!!!

I agree, but still: RDX jumping (flying) = FUN FUN FUN! :D

Who cares? Seriously! There is no point in doing it. It doesn't give you an advantage over anyone else since you can do it on a FF on server with a pod beacon and that's already been discussed a thousand times.
Anyway, to me using a beacon to land on a building is perfectly realistic. Launching yourself with a bunch of c7 is completely unrealistic.

Cry, cry. In my experience it is very uncommon for people to intentionally TK on FF-enabled servers.
Is the RDX exploitation cheesy and unrealistic? Heck yes, and it should be done away with. However, the solution here is clear: play on FF servers. They're better anyway (being a little subjective here).

Herp never said "intentional". TKs will happen on FF on servers and I think you know this. Seems to me you are agreeing with what Herp has said to the OP.

+1 I consider it a lame exploit when you only play on FF off servers.
I`m betting you`ll get to keep your stats though.

QFT. Last night I spent two not-very-fun rounds where 2/3 of the other team were all Recons tossing their RDX at their own feet and blowing everyone but themselves up. When it happens here and there I can ignore it, but this was over half the team, ALL ROUND, twice in a row. What a bunch of lamers. I never paid too much attention to FF On or Off (normally when I join a couple of buddies are already on, and I just join them no matter what server they're on), but with that experience fresh in my mind, I'll be playing more FF On than Off now. Now if only there was more detail in the server browser rather than the one single "FF=On/Off" totally meaningless line...

This happens that often? I don't see how it could bother anyone that much.
