Haha, I'm amused. I mean c'mon not only it is a joke but the main point it is not real.

If there was a joke on the WWII genocide or something, THEN it would not be funny but just sick in the head.

Hahaha, 8.5/10. Funny thought for a game billboard, in reality it would just be non sence, take taht bd off now or ill have my Scar 11 kill u

That's pretty low, unless the same person submitted both of them....

Agreed. I don't even get the humor. Maybe the guy is in a place for the criminally insane.

Neither do I. Its not that funny. Even if its a joke that doesn't mean it can have whatever content they want in it.

They could have thought of something a lot funnier if you ask me.

It takes the piss out of capitalism quite nicely and makes a very valid point about the morality of advertising in games by taking it to a distasteful extreme whilst still keeping the issue of children and adverts at its fore front.

Do try and keep up guys.

Just because one has the ability to use words doesn't mean one should use words they don't quite understand... and then to form those very words into cliche phrases which lack substance is, well, remarkable. Good job!

"corperate morality" (sic) is a real knee-slapper.

I don't want to see garbage promoting the tossing of youngsters off a cliff. My toddler children would never see this and just to rain on your parade, I make the decisions about what my children are exposed to.

Why you would care is beyond my comprehension except it gives voice to your morals or lack thereof.

Im always curious how parents choose what ad comes on the TV next and quite where you learn to predict the future more generally is a mystery to me. Why dont you do more to stop murder if you know where and when its going to happen and if in reality you dont have these abilitys accept that more and more parents do not have a say in what children are exposed to.

Tell me exactly what stops an ad in similar taste appearing in game, unless corperate morality exists then nothing prevents such a thing appearing other than someone's willingness to pay.

Mr bzb, you seem to have your own agenda here. I simply stated that once I had children my view of things like this phoney ad changed dramatically and now I see nothing amusing in it. I also stated that I was hostile towards folks promulgating such junk.

You however have challenged my parenting and my intellectual capacity. You also seem determined to shape this into some kind of rant against corporate morality.

Are we then to use personal morality--of which by definition each individual might have their own unique moral code? Or, would the common, accepted and standardized version of a society's moral code (corporate morality) be more fairly implemented?

Your reductio ad absurdum about "predict(-ing) the future" is not worth much. I don't predict the future: I simply don't allow my toddler-age boys watch TV or play video games. I screen every movie they watch for appropriate content. That is how I control what my child is exposed to in the media.

Such an ad might appear in a game. However, the ad may never appear for reasons other than what you state. Working in profession closely related to the ad industry, I have to share with you that simply because an ad has been created does not mean it will be successful. Its success may or may not have any relation to any moral issue, but instead be determined by whether the advert has any leverage with the target audience.

Thus, your statement that without the existence of corporate morality it is simply a matter of economics is not without some merit, but the equation you create does not balance. There is more to the issue than just morality and money. I have a feeling we're hung up lacking common ground regarding terms and definitions.

I grant the artist a right to create such a work. Simultaneously, I state that I do not like it, nor do I think it is appropriate content for this website or the game. What about if we changed it from "Throw this boy off the cliff..." to "Throw this {insert stereotype here} off the cliff..."? It is still offensive. What about "Throw this cute lil ol bunny rabbit off the cliff..." It is still offensive because it is advocating violence without any redeeming factors.

If it said, "Save this boy from being hucked over the cliff: only $5" it might be a little, teeney-bit funny. Saving the innocent is a redeeming factor.

And with that, I'm done here. I can't believe I let myself get drawn into this... :shakehead:
