It says I need 6 more hours with Medic Hub. Does that mean the time physically running around with the white medic box, or just time playing as Assault ? Thanks.

Time playing as Assault.

Because the requirements guage fill up equally for both the time as assault and the time using the medic hub (I remember that is bugged, someone please clarify this)

no matey i asked this a while back. just play as assault for 6 hours and it should be fine from there on end.:)

I thought that meant that you needed to have 6 more hours either holding the medical hub, or having it deployed for others to use.

I'm dead sure it's total assault time, I got this badge before the patch where they halved the amount you'd have to heal to get a point, man was that tricky, healing a total of 1500 damage in a round. Now you get it at 750, that's more like it....

Every second you play as assault kit counts towards the medic badge. You don't need the hub in your hands, or on the ground. You just need to have it in your inventory.

Thanks !! I need a goal with this game or I lose interest. I just got the 20 kills in Assault for the Silver badge for that. It was hard because I usually use the Lambert and the Voss is not as powerful and I have to keep reloading. I enjoy playing Medic.

Larry

P.S. : the 7 knife kills continue to elude me......... (sigh)

Nothing was more maddening than getting the gold knife. 17 kills is friggin ridiculous. Should have been 4 for bronze, 7 for silver, 10 for gold.

Don't even get me started on the pistol badge.... ;)

Hahaha. Just imagine, running around with that friggin' box in your hand for 60 hours! Talk about a dull and ungratifying job! :p

That's great, but, ......... why? Seems to me that to accomplish that, you must be playing on servers that are full of people who are blind, deaf, and dumb. Either that or you frequent K/P servers. Seriously though, don't you feel like you're missing out on the real game action running around with a knife all the time?

Voss > Lambert. Also bigger clip and less damage drop off at range. If you can own with the Lambert you should be cleaning house with the Voss.

My thoughts exactly.

I find the Voss much less capable than the Lambert. Many times, if me and another poor soul have a stand up-shootout at the same time, the Lambert wins much of the time. I haven't found that true with the Voss. The range seems to be much better on the Lambert, and it seems more accurate at a longer range. Are you saying the Voss has a bigger clip ? It sure doesn't seem that way to me.....I guess everyone has a favorite weapon, and because it is their favorite, use it more and become more proficient with it....

Also, it seems to me that maybe the Lambert rounds are bigger (?) or more powerful, and can penetrate armor better ....

I suppose on a big conquest server you could have some really REALLY long rounds. Good on you if you're having fun! :salute: I just couldn't do it!

Well I am surprised. I finally found my misplaced copy of the Prima BF2142 guide. On page 13 is the comparison chart of all the firearms. The Voss has 40 rounds vs. 30 for the Lambert. max damage is 25 for each and the min damage is 16 for the Lambert and 20 for the Voss. It shows the start and end as 25 -55 for the Lambert and 40 - 65 for the Voss. The ROF for the Voss is 900 vs. 600 for the Lambert. There is a paragraph above the table that will explain all of this.

I am sure most of you already knew this. The LMG for support are not that powerful either..., but of course, lots more rounds.

Go figure.

The LMGs are practically useless now.

Anywho, how the hell do you get 8 medic points a round? I have tried Titan defense, Titan offense, Camp Gib camping as EU, and 8v8 Berlin, none of them I seem to get this simple badge >.<

The Medic badge pretty much requires you to run around to all the choke points on Gibraltar, Tunis, Cerbere healing everyone you can find. If you get there and there is another medic box out, get rid of it as it'll bleed off your Heals. Be advised that other players may not like you destroying their medhub. You can either stick with them to prove you'll cover them or leave them to find others to heal. Remember, the secret is to be at the bottlenecks. Throw down one and then pull another to run around with (without throwing down) for maximum healing.

How do you destroy teammates hubs?

How do you destroy teammates hubs?

Shoot it until it blows up and disappears. You won't get team damage like you would if you shot a friendly sentry gun.

I usually get 17+ knives IAR and I don't miss out on much. If I know an enemy is close to me they will lose their tags, if they are in the distance and they have seen me, I will introduce them to the Baur. :D

I have just been running around with the Hub. How do you drop one and get another to run with ? I tried it a few times and wasn't able to. The 15 heals a game doesn't look too difficult.

The hubs need a bit of time to recharge after you drop them, then you will be able to pull a new one out.
And dropping is done by primary fire, if you were asking about that too.

Not since the 1.2 patch. Under the old system, it was a pain in the a$$. You had to heal 80% for one single point - now it is only 50%. Back then, a 64 player server on Gib was about the only place you could get any points.

Oh yeah, I remember that, came just after the Assault rifle buff to deviation (or accuracy, cant remember). Made assault the best class in the game :\

Not quite clear on how the Hubs work. Say at start of a map, I drop a Hub where all the fighting is, after a short period of time ( how long ? ), I am able to use a hand-held Hub, and the one I dropped still works as well. Do I have to wait to die for the dropped one to disappear ? By respawning and dropping another it somewhere else, it then goes away ? I guess what I am asking is that I can only have 2 at a time, one on ground and one in hand ?

Yes. As soon as you throw the second one onto the ground somewhere, the old one will blow up. I also believe they fade shortly after your kit does should you be killed.

Well, I got the 1000 point Medic Excellence Badge today. My whole team, all 32 of us, were trapped in the Central Camp Flag on Camp G for about 150 tickets. I think I had about 25 heals before the slaughter was all done. Thanks to all for your help. I guess it is back to try for 7 knife kills again....GRRRRRRRRR

The hubs are equipped with a certain amount (anyone know?) of healing ability which is deplenished with use. When fully used, it will blow up and disappear.

So, you can start a round and run over to a choke point and throw down a medhub. In 5 (or so) seconds you can pull out another hub and if you don't throw it to the ground, the first hub will stay where you threw it.

If you choose to 'deploy' that hub instead of just holding it, the first hub will be destroyed and you will not be able to pull another for 5 seconds.

The secret to earning Heal points is in smartly deploying a hub in a highly contested area so your teammates are healed. Then, when able, pull out another hub and hold it to more rapidly heal those around you.

That hub you threw to the ground has a limited lifespan. Be prepared to deploy another, or better yet, find another chokepoint location and deploy there.

I never even knew you could do this and I got my badges just fine on Gibraltar or Carebear Landing...

You know, the only time I've ever done this to someone on my own team was to a clanmate of mine (Ghost... I'm sorry man ). I regularly destroy enemy medhubs because I don't want to give the other team some free points... I also need to get a little nitpicky because my sig talks about "squad play" and I put my squaddies first over the enemy and even the rest of my team. If it will benefit my squad without being a smacktard thing to do, I'll do it.

Also, I did not advocate messin' up the others on your team. Instead, I said that you could stick with them to let them know you'll cover them if they need healing because you'll be acting as a Medic for them vs. primarily runnin' and gunnin'. Once they know you're taking care of business, they can change kits if they want... at least that seems to happen to me a lot when I'm in Medic-mode.

Thanks for keepin' me honest and lettin' me set the record straight. :salute:

EDIT: I just saw what RottnJP was talking about in my sig... Well, I still think I'm a good team player even if I killed Ghost's medhub every time I could...

More importantly, it makes me laugh. If you're old enough, you remember the "Care Bears", a cheezy sappy sweet cartoon in the 80's. I picture all these pastel Care Bears running around Carebear landing. Honestly, I think a hilarious mod would have all the attackers re-skinned to look like gun-toting rabid, insane Care Bears... I wouldn't be able to stop laughing.

(As you can tell, they don't let me out much... :p)

hehe. I like the idea of such a mod. Carebears could be innocent bystanders that could just "accidentaly" end up as casualities of war
