View Full Version : A New Cheat

Was playing at my favorite hangout, and discovered a new form of cheating (well, new in the sense I haven't encountered it before).
Was at the Ruins, and was going to it to help the squad cap it. Saw the commander there with his blue star, but the flag wouldn't change. Thinking he was pinned down by a pesky Recon or something, I raced over. Killed a prone enemy by the crates thinking that was the guy that held up the cap, and looked around for the Commander.
He uncloaked and killed me on the spot.
The guy was clearly with the Commander blue star icon, on a FF=OFF server, so there's no doubt it was the enemy masking himself as our commander.
Is this part of this new surge of game hacks, now?

There has been a hack out for some time now where the person using it can switch teams, and can also be a commander. Please don't ask me where one can get this, because I haven't a clue, and even if I did I wouldn't answer, because I believe hacking to be for small minded individuals who can't win playing fairly. It just ruins the game for people who do play fair.

I want to know is there a hack that makes it like the player disappears from the Leaderboard, but still is the enemy -- so much so to knife you (and you see a couple empty slots on the enemy's roster, on an auto-balance server)?
Usually when there's a kniving I look to see how the guy is playing, but he wasn't listed (he was there, as I RDXed him...lol).

Came across something similar today. A person wearing the enemy uniform was prancing around with a blue nametag above their name. He started shooting at me, so I show him down. Got a teamkill.

Some time ago I heard of people complaining that their Titan got invaded in the hangar by enemies with blue tags and 'friendly' uniforms. Obviously these enemies could spawn on the spawns their victims could. And I thik the game registered them as TKs when they were killed, but not the other way round.

I used to get replaced by a guy with a lower rank during application of commander post.
Hack? Dice bug?
no one knows

This is quite an old glitch. =\ However, I've only encountered it once, and since there are no more non-knife FoB servers, I haven't seen it since.
Wasn't that around 1.10 patch? U could get inside that builing with help of the SD-8 Accipiter or Otus. But since the patch fixed it, i didn't see this glitch after that.

Now you don't just have to worry about deaths, getting TKs for actually killing the enemy, too.
Sheesh!

Fair thing to point out - if you kill an enemy and then take their kit, your clothing and appearance actually changes as well, to something of an approximation of the enemy skin. This may have been what went on in that situation, and the teamkill may have indeed been accidental.

I've seen it. Not sure it was a bug or a hack though.
I've also experienced enemies with blue names... It sucks being knifed just because you thought it was one of your buddies... :( I also accidentally shot one guy who I thought was a teammate (since he had a blue name), I looked at the scoreboard and I had recieved points for killing that guy. Really it was pure luck but fun anyway

Really? I didn't know that, if it's true. Can anybody confirm?

i believe your backpack and helmet will change but that should be it, you dont look exactly like an enemy uniform but you might want make sure you take a second look before killing someone though. i like picking up an enemy recon kit when venturing into the enemy bases to blow assets or steal vehicles. i have been able to walk up to some enemy look them in the eye and knife them in the face without them batting an eyelash. i am guessing these are not experienced players. lol.

hahaha. I imagine the look on the other player's face while trying to figure out what just happened  I suppose that if it is indeed an unexperienced player, he would probably call you a cheater...

It's unfortunate that EA doesn't treat cheaters like Blizzard or Valve do ; by banning accounts. From what I understand, it doesn't prevent people from buying their games...

Yes i agree, Valve are very good against banning hackers. Once they are gone they are GONE FOR GOOD.
With EA its im banning this account but you can go buy our game again for more money and then hack some more if you want.

Well, if they want that bad to throw their money out the window, good for them.

hacks are not on the rise. Very few people are actually cheating when compared to the numbers of people playing.
I compare it to shark attacks played out by the media during the summertime. If you watch the news they make it sound like people are getting eaten by sharks all over the place. In reality when you compare the number of people at the beach to actual number of attacks, its not even close.
yes there are cheaters out there, but it is nowehere near as rampant as most players think. As a server owner i spend alot of time making sure people are not cheating on my server. So far i have not caught anyone. On the other hand if i had a nickel for every accusation by a player towards another player, i would be a rich man.

Yes but 2 people hacking is a rise from 1 person hacking.
They ARE on the rise but they are still in the minority.

Only the backpack and helmet. Though I think only EU gets a helmet switch, I've never seen a PAC soldier with an EU helmet.

yeh just hekmet and backpack but on busy choke points that can be enough to kick things off especially with emps going off.

Not exactly like an enemy, no. The skin you then have is something of an amalgamation of the two sides, with the torso being dominated by the color of the kit you currently have in your possession. The difference is noticeable to the trained eye and if you take a moment to look, but as we all know, sometimes that time is not there on the battlefield.

I know you don't do it on purpose, but you always come off as making the assumption that other people are rather stupid or unseasoned at the game. The general tone of your comments come off as incidentally offensive. It happened in that last major debate you had, and I just see it again.
I know it's a reasonable assumption, but perhaps you don't realize how it reads to other people. Anyways, no, this was definitely an enemy somehow tagged as being on my team. I can tell the difference, and they started shooting at me first.

I meant to assume nothing and if you were offended I apologize for that perception. I can't find any particular part of my post that refers to you as stupid, but nonetheless I will take your word that something was there, and it was not my intent to come off in that manner. Good of you to know I don't do it on purpose.
In my experience, the skin changing is flaky at best. Sometimes the helmet changes, sometimes it doesn't, sometimes the entire torso clothing changes, sometimes it doesn't. Accidents happen for all of us - didn't mean to imply that you were bad at the game.
edit: And for the record, if someone shoots at me, friend or foe, and takes off more than 25% of my health in an obvious intentional situation, I kill them. How you handled the situation is in no way at fault - I would have done the exact same thing in your place and been just as surprised at the TK notification.

Well glitching seems to be definitely on the increase. Been playing quite a bit of FoB recently and I'd say everyday there has been a minimum of 1 person glitching.
