Haha, Walkers rule!

I did a round in Tunis last week where I went 37/0 in the Bogaytr. Probably would've done better in the Riesig.

First, you have to understand that I am running as Support and slapped the IDS-1 on the can while my buddy ran Engi and slapped the vehicle spotter on, too. We took enough hits, but he'd repair us or eliminate the mines and I kept us in ammo. We raged the server and would have gotten more kills if the enemy did not have several players dedicated to my destruction. If I could have gotten in closer, it would have been sick!

But I noticed one thing that kept happening. It took them a long time, but they finally though to try carbombing me. (They kept sending their Walker at me with a noob at the helm and I tore it apart 3 times without taking more than 20 damage). I kept watching for the cars and tried to position myself where they couldn't hit me directly. I blew up several cars before they got close enough, but at least 3 times I should have been toast.

The jeep came in, I couldn't kill it, he bailed and I'm waiting to die.... but I didn't.

Because I was in motion and the jeep was already damaged, I believe that the Recon's inability to detonate before it rammed me meant that I was destroying the jeep by "kicking" it as we rammed, thus adios-ing the RDX and saving my hide. I didn't figure it out until the last time because I had thought it was a fluke until then.

Kinda cool!

....but not for Mr Recon with no more RDX who just bailed out in front of an angry Walker. I believe he made the same popping noise when I stepped on him that a frog does when you run it over with your car. :shock::dead:

Personally I hate to see a walker roaming around getting an easy ride so I make it my mission to take them down. Unless I'm driving it of course.

If I'd have been on that map you wouldn't have got 37/0 :D

I resort to Jihad jeeping when there is a walker tearing crap up. It's very useful on Tunis. If someone's good at it (I'm good enough, certainly not the best at it) then its hard to keep that buggy off you. Better have teammates who'll warn you so you can run off into the water lol.

Walkers are one of the coolest parts of the game and also the worst. Why worst, you ask? Because the walker blows out my speakers every time I load the game up. Piece of junk walkers.

Yeah, this is the reason I often start of as engineer w/pilum and mines on maps like Tunis, CampG, and Berlin. I've seen too many bad situations where you have:

A) A patient and alert walker or APC pilot

B) A complete lack of engineers due to an infantry-friendly map

The results are typically bloody and horrifically one-sided.

I do the same thing sometime, Oz. But usually only after I know no one on my team is going to pony up and do it.

I dunno... they WERE hunting me hardcore. Turrets, Pilums from unseen locations, mines, carbombs. They were trying HARD. And we took our share of hits, came close to bailing twice. But one man against two who are equipped would be hard-pressed unless he had good coordination with his squad.

I enjoy the FF=OFF sites... you can carbomb without bailing and losing the jeep. :nod::shock::yay: Just switch to the trunk spot.

I would have put it in war stories, but figured the jeep death thing might be edumacational for some folks.

lol, one time I podded from my titan onto the top of a walker, and kept using my pilum on top of the walker until I destroyed it. The walker kept walking around before it was destroyed trying to get away from me, but the pilot must've thought I was on the ground, lol. That was pretty awesome. :D

Its funney how a vehicle designed to out pace and out gun infantry is so effective at, well, everything.

i went 47/0 on belgrade with the reisig, one enemy was so desperate to kill me that he went 0/20 that round, i like thinking that i gave someone a purple heart :D

jihading is seriously lame in my opinion, its spectacularly easy to do and there's almost nothing the vehicle can do to stop the jihader

it's just a pet peeve of mine, i try not to get frustrated, i mean its just a game, but whenever i die from a jihader i feel cheated

I think jihad is ok. Eventually it will happen anyway. It's part of the game.

What I find lame is when it happens again...and again...and again from the same tool in the same map. I find those sort of repetitive ram jobs to be like cheating. Wish there was a way to punish because that really IS skill-less and takes away from the game.

Do you recognise the difference between jihading and a multiple RDX high velocity delivery system! I think the latter is a valid tactic - you sacrifice a FAV to remove a walker!

i used to be against jihading but just lately i have gotten tired with people who camp in the walkers so jihad is the best way to take em out...its either win the round or let the enemy walk r8pe your whole team...

Normally when you can own the other team with a walker, the other team sucks.
I played a campg with a walker and the only way they managed to destroy me was with and emp+arty strike, when I died I had managed to kill more or less 20 guys in a row, I thought that my ownage in that round was over because my team was confined to a single falg.
I ended that round with a 49-2, so it wasn´t the walker that dominated the battle it was the ppl that were playing in that round that were in a bad day.

Two good engies in a team can stop a walker from owning.

One of my more skilled than I team mates went 78-0 in a walker. He's good in the damn thing, but this was a godly run. The stars aligned or something, and neither orb strike nor jihad jeep could touch him. It was so much of a massacre that it lost it's humor near the end of the map. The enemy team was getting hostile and accusing him of hax. Really tho, I only saw one or two guys try and go engineer to kill him.

That was his biggest kill streak ever. Here's his stats if you wanna check him out.
