View Full Version : SUGGESTION: Anti Explosives Field

Theres a new item that creates a small field with the ability to nullify or negate the effects of explosives for a short amount of time. See the Titan corridor for example...tons of guys planting APMs, RDXs, firing AR Rockets, Spamming Grenades. Not to mention the nerve wrecking A12 Sentry Guns that shoot through the wall as well as a squad of enemies with some MG's ready to shoot you. Yes you can throw some grenades in, but what are the chances of you surviving enough to go in when grenades are being spammed or something like that. I can see many strategic points spawning from this. Say, theres a clan or a very very cooperative squad, each can be equipped with this item and make like a tunnel and worm through the titan corridors, but they're opened for enemy fire to hit them. :salute:

Just my $.02; but meh. No real need. Survivor SL can hide back and just be a spawn point. Wave after wave you can easily overcome one or two defenders. Or the new SLB with decreased spawn time = same effect. Sure your K/D takes a nose dive; but what's more important to you, taking one for team or your K/D?

I'd have to say that most people are more concerned with their k/d ratio...
that idea would be only useful in a titan corridor situation

As the saying goes for everything else: ADAPT.
Seen squads get through a grenade fest before, but it takes precise timing and a squad that's willing to die to make it work.
What happens with this Titan corridor grenade and RDX whining, is attackers just want easy pins. Efforts to tell them to cap instead doesn't work, they just want pins and easy kills.
Defenders are doing their job, just as any homeowner would do to thwart an invader, using whatever tools at hand to stop them.
So adapt.

Well you already have the diffuser in the engineer kit. That is one way to destroy mines. You can also destroy APMs with the Zeller and use RDX (in shotgun form too) to destroy them.
There are plenty of ways for a resourceful person to handle most situations as it is. Sentries are easy to take down if you don't panic and have teammate cover or few enemies to worry about.
Like UNATCOII said: adapt. ;)

Maybe a new unlock that will give foot soldiers a personal countermeasures device that will stop bullets/explosives for maybe a few seconds, like the mechs, gunships & APCs & maybe on the FAVs & Hachimoto, would help a lot.
Hey, if noobs want to support this thing I'm not going to oppose it.
Imagine an untouchable Walker for periods at a time. Got your regular shield and then you've got the anti-explosive shield. WOOT!
Yeah, that'd be overkill.
And why are you playing Titan? It's lame, it lags and the coding sucks. Get your noob butt into Conquest. :nod:

I have to agree with most people here. If you want to have a countermeasure to everything in the game then whats the point? Adapt and learn how to subvert your enemies using different techniques.

agreed. if you're defending the titan... defend at all costs. you fail, you're entire team loses.
of course, the engi kit gets rid of anything but nades. you want to kill the nade spammers, sacrifice youself and run into the doom and chuck your own nades. you'll die, but you'll open a window for your squad/team. find a way.

dude i dont see the point, if you are getting RDX, use the defuser, you can probably defuse all RDX and APM without the guy nowing this, and kill him while he tries to detone what no longer exists.
If you have trouble with the sentry guns, did you know that if you trow a EMP granade, they will stop firing for about 10 sec... i bet you didnt know that .... there are hundreds of ways to defend and attack, you just have to try harder... i bet some of the guys around here could give you a leason or two about atack and defend (me included =P)
If you are getting sniped, bring an IDS, or the other one from support (dont recall name right now), did you know that if you trow yourself into a lower flor while prone or crouch you will have 80% to 100% chance an APM laying down there wont blow you a$$ off?, and if there is a sentry gun, it take 3 to 5 secs for it to start shooting you? there are lots of things you can put to practice, now, get your a$$ on the battlefield and behave like a soldier!! =P
