Titan players!

What's the trick? How do you enjoy this game mode? The maps are so vast, I end up running around for 5-10 minutes doing nothing, maybe capping a silo and then a tank ends my misery. The only real action is on the titans, but that's so laggy/grenade spam that it gets old quickly. Obviously a lot of people play Titan, I'd just like to know the key to having fun on these maps.

you shouldn't really be running around, team up with a couple of people and get a convoy going, and apc and 2 tanks can rain on anyone's parade

trying to hold all of the silo's is a lot of fun

also, try flying around in a gunship, as either a pilot or gunner, both are entertaining

and raid the vent with the shotgun, godamn that's fun

Gunship

You can get lots of points and kill with it on titan mode as long as you have a clue how to do.

While it might sound like whoring, you can slow the enemy progress and that helps your team.


Defending silos

Certain silos are worth defending as they pose a tactical advantage for your team.

Defending those specific silos can make you rack lots of points, whatever they are teamwork or kill related points.

80% of the players overlook the value of defending, then they run crying to their subscribed forums when they taste a rape.


Medical support while defending/attacking titan

If you are a teamworker, medical support is very rewarding while defending or attacking a titan.

When I say medical support, I mean healing/reviving focused while providing cover from behind.

Use a SAAW combined with stationary AA and you will be called a non-skilled noob sooner or later...

Defending might be interesting. I like working in teams but rarely do people work together, even in the same squad.

my 3 things id normally do are

1. use transports to get to places of action, so u dont waste time losing potential points

2. hunt tanks, quite fun with eng kit and lots of tanks on the field, use transport to fly lowish and spot tanks, then jump out (making sure noone is inside) and blast them.

3. go around in a tank or car, u can get quite a few kills in a tank and it can be quite fun driving around in the fav

My clan prides ourself on our teamwork. There is nothing more fun then running a titan map with a transport full or dedicated team players! POINTS POINTS POINTS! :laugh:

Make sure you don't have your settings too high so that you experience lag on your end on a Titan and then play on a good server.

I personally enjoy massive battles on the enemies titan it gets hectic, but usually consoles will get destroyed anyway and everything will move along. Its hard for the enemy to defend two consoles at a time.

When your team is being assaulted heavily it can be handy to camp in a vent for a while. It isn't exciting, but it racks in points and helps you team and you'll see a lot of guys getting blown up. :D

In TWL (Team Warafare League) There is a competitive Ladder there for Titan. Most clans who enjoy it compete there ;) We've had alot of fun being in number 2 hitting the number 1 spot on wednesday.

Once you learn to TV guide as well you can have alot of fun in the gunship.

I have spent most of my time playing Conquest ( 637 hours total .. 56 hours in Titan mode ), and like you, was mystified why the Titan players thought it was so entertaining. In the past 2 weeks, I have been fortunate enough to play on some good servers, with little lag, and in good squads, and in many games where they were even right down to the very, very last.... It made all the difference. In most of the these cases, the Titans stayed put in the corner. This reduces the gun play on the ground or at the silos, until the end when the APCs get near for podding...however, you learn all about the value of capturing silos, holding them, and what the rockets will do to the enemy silo. I was finally able to get two awards I didn't expect >> "Titan Destruction Achievement Badge ( Silver )", and the "Valorous Unit Service Ribbon" ( 55 Teamwork score )...

So set aside a long block of time, maybe 4+ hours....look for a server where the Titans stay put, and most importantly, where the game is close to even ( very important ).....find a good squad, and give yourself a goal or goals..

Learn to fly a transport, fly in a transport as Engineer or Recon, pod down to a Silo taken by the enemy, take it and leave APMs or MMs, and find a way to the next one.....In the games I mentioned above, the battles on the Titan did not become as important as who owned the silos....

Oh, don't you know? Titan is a big bag of fun, as soon as you are willing to noob-feed all of the server's statswhores *Borat* NOOT!

The key is: don't think of it as conquest, but an Engineer's nightmare.

After that hurdle, you'll understand the game is about getting a vehicle (hardly anyone walks -- well I do, but I'm hunting Titan guns and vehicles), and using it to help you cap.

But the main fun is the Titan fighting. It would've been much more fun if the game was better coded for 64 players (that's why there's so many guns and vehicles), not reduced to 48, because with 64 players the Titan will be crawling with attackers and defenders -- with still cappers below. 48 makes it anything but attacking/capping or defending/capping game, as it just leaves barely enough for each.

mmm titan matches are interesting, if you want a fun match i wouldn't play titan. I'd do camp G conquest or tunis harbour but if you want points then go for the titan. you can rack up 80 to 100 points quite easily on the titan. i never used to play titan but i have started doing so in the last week and i've gone up to ranks. i could probably do more but i don't play enough.
