yes i believe that the hacker server used to muck up the leaderboard is up and running again but with a more covert style. my evidence lies in the stats of and Australian player who recently started climbing the ranks amazing fast.
his best round score is 6075 which i have been told is impossible to get as the game stops at 2047.

if you look at his server history you will also see he has been playing on the 24/7 Titan By =GRX= , i remember seeing the GRX server in the history of the stat padder's who took over the leader boards

Bet you can count that the server provider allows them access to the game files to do as they please, too.

This guy could have gotten that score when the Air Transport exploit was still around. Also, 2047 is just what the scoreboard stops at. You can still get however many points.

With everything going wrong with BF2142, it's time to move along. Hopefully other distributors and devs are more understanding -- like a stat game needs it's stats to be policed and vetted; and bugs to be fixed in a timely manner -- not run to Macs for a new revenue stream, instead.

BF2142 was my first and last BF game, and will be my last EA game (sad because I do like The Sims, too). But it's not worth dealing with all these bugs -- especially with PB that crashes more than once a day.

it's a shame, but that's probably true for me too

i absolutely loved this game, it really had those "punch the air in triumph" moments

but now it seems that it is cheapened by the droves of bunny-hoppers, glitchers, hackers and general asshats

It says it ships on July 10th, but if Gamestop gets it then, it doesn't mean it's on sale then. The stores generally get the games a few days before they can actually plop them on the shelves for sale. Look for it a few days after the 10th to actually go live.

i wouldn't hold my breath on quake wars, the developers have actually NEVER given a release date. the dates showing up are ones made up by the game sellers like ebworld and gamestop. there has never been an official release date announce by the developers.

I was looking at the leaderboard the other day (not that I'll EVER see my name on it, hahahah), and amid all the 1.5 and 2.3 and the occasional 3.2 K/D, I suddenly see 6.4 something and a 5.6 something or other. That is insane and not possible IMHO.

And for the people with high hopes on QW... I hate to tell you this, but all those sploiterz and haxx are gonna be there too, they will just not be so "bothersome" since as far as I know, aside from the satisfaction from being first place, there is no stat recording and awarding.

And if they allow to jump and fire at the same time... well, you are just gonna have to see it... UT all over the place.

If QW is anything like enemy territory; it's gonna be worse than the dolphin dive, or at the very least, a re-edition of Quake 3 arena matches.

The best thing EA did with 2142 was remove the ability to prone spam and bunny-hop (properly i mean, whilst shooting)

i intend to make sure these two monstrosities (maybe a little exaggeration there) are out of QW before i buy it

The thing isn't so much that QW will be problem free. Rather, id and Splash Damage have a much better history of listening to the community, responding to complaints, and releasing patches. At least, that was my impression.

Sometimes I read the stuff posted by DICE on this forum, and I just feel like any hopes that certain bugs will be fixed are thrown out the window because DICE actually attempts to rationalize why it's not an important issue to fix. And having been a beta tester for NS, I sometimes wonder where all work we did ended up...
