Happened to me a few times. In his defense he turned back just as you were on his six so in the spin he could easily miss you. Maybe he was looking at his minimap to see who was calling 'medic'

I had a situation in almost the same spot - by the stairs where the spawn is for that flag:

Spawned in started running and 3 enemy troops ran right past me. They must have seen me there but none of them reacted to me. My belief is because I was running in the group with them they thought I was one of them! For a moment I thought I had changed team. When I confirmed the red names I opened up :D
