I was just thinking there has to be some really good battlefield short stories, I just want to know what your best ever SHOT was? Mines a TK... :salute:

Year: 1942, Jap v USA

I was standing at the spawn end of the Aircraft Carrier, I had been queing for the Zero fighter (Good Brit I am) when someone spawned and took it....

I didn't even turn the mouse to look, it happens alot after all. But as the plane had reached the very end of the runway and had risen 10 foot into the air I twitched the mouse and fired with my 1 shot rifle in his direction... The plane plummited into the water and exploded, I had taken his head off from a mile.

Best shot was on 2142 - gunship giving me a hard time while I'm on foot, since i know full well that it's almost impossible for those things to kill a foot soldier without a gunner, I stand my ground. He circles, circles, trying to get me and fails. Health at about 15 by now though. For reasons that escape me he starts to fly away, perhaps he ran out of ammo. Anyway, I lead the pesky mosquito with my pilum and BLAM.

He doesn't need ammo anymore. Hope he enjoyed his 15 second vacation....

Happens to me all the time :) I mean i get shot point blank by snipers :)

Other than that, unscoped pilum vs uber infantry players are my favorite ones.

I was on Kubra Dam on the scaffolding facing a jet taking off with after burner on. The tires just left the ground and he was facing the clear blue sky and bam! A clean shot through the cockpit and I saw the plane did a nose dive back crashing down to the earth below.

In BF2, got the sniper rifle that shoots through helicopter cockpits.

Well, in the middle of an intense battle, which I got caught up in as a sniper in the level with the TV tower (forget what its called), an enemy chopper was strafing our troops. Well, pull out the Rifle, and take a quick shot, not expecting anything. Kill shot, chopper goes down with gunner in it, and crashes into 1 or 2 baddies.

I was pleased :D

In 2142, Probaby a long range snipe of a recon class who just threw some RDX under a mech of ours. Killed him before he got a chance to detonate. This guy was only a few pixels.

I was underneath my titan on Shuhia Taiba protecting DICE grim3vil from being knifed (he was just running around waiting for people to come and get him). I was playing sniper. After sniping a few people from the tower nearby I decided to climb down to the ground.

Then some guy came out of nowhere and started trying to knife him. I pulled out my Moretti sniper rifle and aimed without the scope in the general direction of the knife fight, shot the gun and killed the enemy with a headshot. It was pure luck.

To second that, one of my first couple rounds after unlocking the Pilum... I was driving an APC to a silo on Shuhia... Gunship strafed in and opened fire on the APC, I hopped out, spun around and fired a shot off with the Pilum. BOOM! 2 kills :D Repaired my APC and got back to what I was doing :p

I was playing on Camp G when I alone met a group of 6 enemies in the other end of a tight passage. They spotted me and ran after me while I hid behind a wall. Seeing that I had about 0% chance to escape I pulled out a grenade and threw it straight into the ground. A quarter of a second after I was shot, all 6 people blew up in pieces. Priceless indeed.

Also I love headshooting people with baur just out of visible range. 3 shots and it's over.

Probably my favorite shot was on Remagen. Playing Titan, and my squad capped the silo right by the bridge. Then two of my guys went down. There was a sniper way the hell up on the top of the bridge support. I revived my two guys, getting shot myself (but not headshot, thankfully), and we got behind the silo. Kept trying to step out but he kept us pinned.

So we pulled the classic sniper distraction, and I had one guy run for all he was worth in one direction, while I stepped out from the other side of the silo and scoped in with my Baur and put three rounds into him while he tried to nail the first guy that ran out from cover. Pretty pleased with myself even if that wasn't my most spectacular kill.

2nd favorite was more recent. Playing Titan on Suez as Recon and capped the silo nearest to the EU base. The FAV hadn't spawned so I stepped back away from the silo for some cover while I waited, and in came an enemy gunship, landed next to the silo. I let him cap it, but right before he took off again, I planted some RDX on his tail and let him lift off and get out of sight before I started capping the silo and hit the switch to blow up the RDX, two kills. I can only imagine they were both like "WTH!! RDX!?!?" LOL

I was playing BF2 on the MEC side, and I was at the flag where the uncap where the tank spawns. The USMC chopper kept camping the uncap, and I was sniping. I don't snipe a whole lot, so I didn't think I would have much chance hitting the pilot, but I said screw it and took a chance.

The bad news is my aim sucked and I didn't hit the pilot or gunner. The good news is the chopper was severely wounded at that point and my single M95 gave it that little nudge it needed to transform into flaming wreckage.

I don't know about anybody else, but taking out a chopper in BF2 will always be the most satisfying and rewarding experience for me.

Mine was in 1942 on Wake it was Japenese guy vs. Sherman, I was playing as the Japenese guy, I was a medic. So as anyone who played bf1942 should know, it takes three grenades under a tank to take it out. So I was on my last grenade and the tank was aiming at me I chucked my grenade and then got blown up. When the kill cam went up to the tank it was a burning wreck and I had killed it. In 2142 I once knifed someone at the same time as they knifed me and we both died. Another time in the same round I was in the gunner seat of a tank, randomly fired into some thick smoke killed somebody and tormented them for the rest of the round. They eventually blew me up with an APM.

BF2 on Daqing Oil fields for the US. I was anti tank and on the airfield as the enemy had driven a tank there. I fire off my missile at the tank from one end of the hanger to the other but before it gets to the tank, the tank has been blown up and and shell is also gone. I unscope and walk away as the missile continues to fly over the ocean. A few seconds later I get two tks as it seems my missile hit a friendly cobra that was out there...

Walker was harassing us at Statue on Belgrade. We were defending, some in buildings and lonely me all by myself on the monorail, providing sniper cover with the Zeller (luckily one of the few times I used it). Walker was hit by one Rorsch, one of my support guys starts EMP nade spamming, a recon rushed over, planted RDX, the walker pilot dropped out, killed the recon, jumped back in. I lined up the Walker, reached out and touched the RDX. Bye Bye Walker

I was playing BF2142 on Suez Canal as PAC. I was driving the hoover tank and then I see someone standing on the enemy titan (the titans shield's down).

So I take a shot at him... Half a minute later and the tank round impacts right besides him! The little feller flies off the titan and the WTF!!!ing begins...

my best shot ever was using the pilum against a gunship on suez canal. I was on top of the structure at silo 3 and could faintly see the gunship hovering near silo one. The tail was facing me and had a split second to make the shot. As soon as i fired the gunship start moving forward and dissappeared from my view. 2 seconds later the reticle flashed and i got 2 kills(had a gunner)! The pilot never complained, although i am sure he was like WTF?

I've taken out a few gunships and transports with a tank shell as they fly across the front of me at a range of 150m+. Its normally a speculative shot though but still aimed so I guess it counts.

Again in the tank. I hit a player who was parachuting off the back of the Titan. You can imagine my disappointment when it turned out to be a TK.

I've had a few other lucky/amazing shots but nothing really stands out.

Best 2142 shot was when I saw a guy barely on my screen, I hopped in the rorsch and 1 of the commanders did an orbi strike between us, blocked my view with it, I saw him start running to the right just before it started, so i aimed right and shot and hit him straight in the head

I've got three. One was back in BF2, on Dalian Power plant, when the USMC had the PLA pretty-well bottled-up in its base. I was PLA and I took a tank on the left-side high road to because the main battle was at the flag immediately outside the PLA base. There was a US helicopter harassing my guys at that flag, and the round was almost over so I took a pot-shot at him from my tank, at considerable range. BANG, direct hit. Fired again, BANG, direct hit. Third shot missed, but he must've bailed or panicked because he crashed right after that.

Second was on Suez-Titan. I was playing an engineer and I had just recently unlocked the Pilum-- this was my first or second round with it, and at this point it had been very accurate, so I was pretty confident with it-- didn't know how inaccurate it would get sometimes. We had a UAV up over one of the non-silo areas roughly between Silos 4(?--the silo at the top of the map) and 5, and I could see an atv with nobody in it, but a blip was in the area, and I saw the blip turn towards the atv. I knelt and fired at the atv from very long range, and the pilum missile was true-- as it flew, I saw a guy run to the atv, hop in, and before he could move, the missile hit the door and the driver was toast. That was the first of two great Pilum kills where I fired at the vehicle before I could see anyone trying to get into the vehicle. (Both on Suez, but different rounds.)

And basically all my very few grenade kills are best shots ever-- the other I threw a grenade uphill and over a wall on Cerbere Landing because there was a radar blip up there that I couldn't see. He is probably still wondering where that grenade came from. Another memorable one had me stuck in the river on Verdun, and an enemy ran right past me across the ford without noticing, even as I fired at him. I chucked a grenade on the road in front of him and he ran right over it. Good throw by me for a change, but that guy should've gotten a clue, so I don't consider it a magnificent kill, just something good enough to win the *medium* stuffed bear.

In camp g, I was in the train area, running to recap the flag, when I grew bored and saw this guy on my radar, and barely in front of me. for the hell of it, I no scope fire and it kills him, idk if it was a headshot or not.

My favorite single shot was made playing with a buddy in the states. 120m headshot from a Park, he was cloaked and running. A couple days later I did it again.

My favorite recent kill was on Titans, in the back of an APC being chased by a Gunship. As we drove near a Titan I launched my Pod and managed to Pod the Gunship mid air.

Picture it:

I'm on suez canal, I had started the round by podding onto a silo that was occupied by 4 guys of the same clan. I killled 3 of them with an SMG and got killed by the fourth, on my death screen I saw the guy and his buddy going up a ladder onto a monorail-type bridge. I spawn back at base and get a tank, drive it to the first silo, cap it, and take a look at the momo-rail.

I see the outlines of the two snipers on the monorail (very faint, 250m I reckon). I ofcourse thought that the range was impossible, and the momorail was a very small target.

I took the shot anyway, the round takes a few seconds to travel, then hits directly between the both of them, sending both flying, rag-doll-like from the mono-rail.

They kick-voted me.

Im sure that it was headshot because i got infiltrator pin after i shot him. But there is times when you can't be 100% sure if it was headshot or not.

For example: My second longest kill is 292m. Im not sure if it was headshot or not because i hitted him once before. :)

My best shot ever took place on Kurba Dam map in BF2. I was a sniper camping out on one of the scaffoldings on the dam itself. Next thing I know, an MEC attack chopper shows up just 30 meters or so to my front-right side. He didn't see me because the pilot and the gunner were concentrating on blowing away troops at the top of the dam. I brought my sniper rifle to bear and targeted the pilot's head. One loud pop later the pilot was hunched over and the chopper began spinning out of control. Before the gunner realized what was happening and switch to the pilot seat, the chopper slammed into the side of the dam and exploded. I've nailed chopper pilots before, but always the gunner would take over and keep the chopper from actually crashing. Not that time though. It was glorious to behold.

Best shot, eh? That would have to be when I was playing Suez Titan a few days ago. I was Engineer on EU with the Mitchell, and I'd just jumped out of an exploding Bandit. With about half my health, I was outside Silo 3 (or the one with all the round towers flanking it) and there were some EU guys trying to capture it that were pinned down by a PAC transport. I whipped out the Mitchell, crouched, and popped off a rocket...just as a friendly Gunship flew past in pursuit of a PAC gunship. I'm all OH SH*T FRIENDLY and I flick the sight upwards just in time. (I think the rocket came within a few meters of hitting him...hehe.) I realign the rocket with the transport, which by that time had disappeared from visual sight. I kept the sight on the transport, thinking There's still a chance, there's still a - BOOM! mmmMMMMULTIKILL! Four guys downed in an instant... :D Good times.

Second best: About a week ago I was playing Titan on Sidi Power Plant for the EU. I remember now, similar to the above, taking a random (but I wanted to hit that gunship), into the air. arounds 2 second later, got 2 kills. My clan mate was =0. I liked that shot, as the shell dropped so much, couldn't even expect that kill.

Another would be killing a transport pilot (that was flying full speed), and I took a seriously random shot from the zellar, and it went through the small gap in the passenger area, and killed the pilot.

My favorite one was this guy doing some RDX ramming on our vehicles in Belgrade. I had enough of being rammed so I thought I would do some sniping and had the zellar. I was crossing the road when they came barreling down on me. Instead of diving for cover, I shot the RDX on the front of his vehicle. Blew the thing to bits.

Kept aiming at them the rest of the game :D

Best intentional shot must have been a Nekomata in the far distance, which was making a turn that would have brought him to safety.
Must have been really annoying, you think you have managed to bring your crippled tank out of harms way and then boom. But I enjoyed it :D

Luckiest shot would have been on one of the NS maps, Remargen I think.
I was manning an AT gun and shooting at a Walker, when suddenly a FAV comes boosting past and catches the projectile. And it was fully manned too :yay:

I was fireing a barrage of rackets at it to the last stand fired 2 last rockets 1 hit than i got blown up by the MMine launcher and 1 of my rockets was stil flying on it so im dead:dead: and i got a 5 kill pin.:D just lol, some complained that i had aim bot. Noobs.:shakehead:

Is there any way to kill the repair thingies on the golaith to weaken or slow the automatic repair? I heard there are these little boxes on the outside that are the repair boxes. What weapons can destroy these?

I've taken out the goliath's repair boxes with the pilum and that's about it, i tried with the Rorsch but it doesn't seem to work that well. RDX works as well, but it's a bit tougher. I'm not 100% if motion mines can destroy these things too. You get 1 point for taking out one of the boxes

Anything that does damage to heavy armor (eg tanks and APCs and stuff) will damage the panels. Machine guns won't work.

My best shot? Random shot into the fog in Berlin at a red diamond. I think it was somewhere around 200 meters or something.

I can top that. My best: podding off the titan onto a full transport that is capping a silo, *AND* another squad helping to capture is gathered together near the transport. I get the Combat pin *and* the distinguished combat pin by killing 10 enemies with 1 pod.

same as in the rarest moment ever, i shot a random pilum shot into the air and a full transport flew straight into it killing everyone aboard :D
