SCAR Users

Looking for advice with the SCAR. I've tried to pwn with my SCAR but it just isn't working out. I always end up grabbing the Baur or Voss.

Single Shot or Full Auto or controlled bursts on the full auto setting? If bursts, how many shots per bursts? Does this depend on the range? If so how many shot bursts for long mediun or short? Where do you aim? What stance do you use (Crouch, Prone or Dolphin Dives, Standing)?

Any advice is appreciated! Just wondering what methods successful SCAR users employ so I can better my SCAR performance. Thanks

well this is a bit of scar advice for u! in full auto when enemy is <20m from u...when you hold fire and crouch pull you mouse down to react against the recoil...you will need to find the rite speed to pull it down of-course. but if enemy >20m go single shot and put 6-8 shots into upper torso/head if u can and quick succession single shots can outfire a full auto voss.

other than that wait till 1.40 cos when i play that with scar its recoil and deviation is alot better for its damage per round and u will find it much easier to kill with

I use full auto at close range, burst at long range (or rockets)

I usually aim at the lower torso and fire off 2-3 shots, the recoil will usually pull the aim up to the head after the first 2 shots.

The SCAR is the baby brother of the BAUR. You can probably pull off 4 shot bursts on auto, before it gets bad.

its a realy handy gun to use just make sure you stop, aim and shoot.

burst always, unless they are are like 5 feet in front of you. need to crouch also and aim for the neck recoil will carry it up.

Well i switch between both single and full auto depending on the situation (saying that i have become lazy recently and used full auto alot more and watched my Scar accuracy fall, think its below 40% now :( )

But if your on full auto just let of 2-4 bullet bursts and aim for the chest.

I pretend it's a Baur, but take advantage of its more forgiving recoil for close range spray or 2 - 3 shot burst, going for the head. Its all about keeping control of your weapon tho.

What I hate about the SCAR is that it has those blue things swinging around the actual crosshair. One of the reason I did never actually try to use it. Why not make it like the Krylov with just the single red dot? What's the use of the blue stuff anyway? :D

I pretend it's a Baur.

I discovered the exact same thing shooting it last night and I got a 3.87 score per minute. It's a decent rifle now, can't imagine what it will be like when it is fixed.

Yo... I'm I missing sumthin here? Are you saying the SCAR has little blue dots which aren't affected by the EMP effect? Come on. You've got to be kidding, right?

Well, Im too late to post useful advise, everyone covered it. The only thing I can add is just wait for the .4 patch, its gonna be awesome.

For Sonic, the blue around it does not disappear when you get EMPed, so you can still aim even though the center is all wack.

That's a great thing to know. I can't believe that I've played the game for this long and don't know that but I don't think I've really used the SCAR...

I can't wait for the 1.4 final patch now!

They aren't really blue dots, when you zoom in you get blue crosshair thingys, which, apparently aren't effected by EMP, according to this Thread.

I should probably try using it on Single Shot more often.

But couldn't they really make both, the blue crosshair and the red dot stay fixed relatively to each other? It always gives me the feeling of really bad accuracy when using this weapon.

They're pretty small. The red dot moves a bit inside them, but not much. The lines are painted onto the scope or something, they never move or disappear.

Agree, but the red dot moves only when you do. Besides the normal scope bobbing, if you stand stock still, the red dot should stay still as well.

I love everything about the Scar-11. It's a beautiful looking gun and sounds great when the volume is turned all the way up.

Every since getting my headphones, everything in 2142 sounds better even though I still use a intergrated sound card!
