^^

You'll be lucky to pull of low settings at 800x600.

(I'm jealous  )

Alright I'm a little confused on the RAM thing. Other Bf2 sites I have been to make it sound like you need 2 Gigs of RAM just to run the game, while on this one it makes it look like 1 Gig of RAM should be enough for medium/high settings. So how would the game run if I had..

Nvidia Geforce 6600GT PCI Express
1 Gig of RAM

And I heard this was a good motherboard for gaming,
MSI K8N Neo4 Nforce 4 Chipset

I have the same Videocard & one gig of ram(DDR2 PC4300) and the game runs great. I get to the Chopper/Jet before most people(believe it or not). 90-100FPS with settings on Medium/High - no AA or AF. I don't need all the eye candy, if I did I would take the performance hit and set all settings on High, but I don't:p

My computers supposed to have 1024mb of ram but and directx configs its 894DDR SD RAM.
At any rate I have:
3400+ AMD 64 processor
894DDR SD RAM
2.40GHZ
will have Nvidia Gefore 6800GT
What kind of settings you think I could pull?

I have 512mb ddr333 and a 512mb ddr400(1 gig in total)
intel 3ghz prescott cpu
160gb sata
and a 9200 128mb.

i got the bf2 demo and my comptuer only managed 35fps on low and i expected atleast 70 because i meet all the requirements and cpu,ram is good
and my graphics card is not great but has met the memory requirements.
but if i were to upgrade to a nvidia 5950ultra 256mb then how well would my computer run bf2?

since i dont come to this forum much if anybody could email me at cloudstrife123456@hotmail.com with the expected performance it would be great help.

Any recommendations for motherboards (AMD processor) and GFX cards?

Based on my system specs is there anything else I should upgrade? or can I just get away with upgrading the CPU to an Athlon XP 3000+ and a GFX card and memory?

AMD XP 2600+ (Barton) @ 2061 MHz
MSI K7N2 Delta-L
Antec 1000 Plusview AMG case
ThermalTake True Power 420 Watt PSU
Dual Western Digital Caviar 7200 RPM 120 GB HDs
Kingston 256 x 2 PC 3200 DDR 400 RAM
Samsung 16x DVD-ROM/RW, LG 52x32x52
HIS RADEON 9600 XT TURBO 128 MB DDR PLATINUM VIVO EDITION 500 MHz/325 MHz

Depends on your budget dude. Athlon 64 motherboard or AthlonXP motherboard? I see the AthlonXP in your setup but is the motherboard for the same processor?

Motherboard - MSI K8N Neo4-Platinum ($125).

Video card - (eVGA) GeForce 6600GT ($130-$170 depending on company, get the eVGA one.)

If you choose to get that motherboard;

Memory - 2 x 256MB Corsair ValueSelect

i have

AthlonXP 2000+
768MB ddr2700
GeXcube ATI 9600XT Extreme

its a normal mid end sistem that runs HL2 on max settings at 1280x1024 around 50fps, i'm hoping to run bf2 well with max settings at at least 800x600 or even 1024 (its perfectly playable on my 17" screen :P ) but if that doesn happen happens i'll have to blame the the graphics engine :\ my pc passed trough HL2 and doom 3 and alot of other new games perfectly why should it stop right on bf2 :P...

anyway i just wanted to remember to ppl that the RAM above 512 just helps making the loadings a bit faster, 1 or 2 gigs of ram arent required for the game experience, it's the same as the earlyer bf series.

Ps: remember that if u treat ur pc well, he does the same in return and gives u very god performance, a computer is not an object... its a advanced lifeform in its own way :P... wow this post got quite big :S

THAT ****ty system running HL2 on max at 1280x1024, i think u mean medium/low on 1024x768 i got aMd 64 3200, ATI 9600xt and 1 gig of 400Mhz and i cant run on high, with 1024x768

my system:

3.0 p4 w/ ht
nvidia 7800 gtx made by sparkle :D
2 gb ddr2 667 ram by transcend
gigabyte intel 945p motherboard
dell 17 in monitor
450 watt power supply
and last but not least, a 10 mb internet adsl connection! no more lag!

sparkman

what a difference :)))))))

my "old" system:

Asus A7V mobo
Radeon 9800pro 128
1 gig pc 2700 ddr
athlon 64 3000+
380 watt power sup

Had to run on all LOW settings with 80-90% view

My NEW system:

Asus A8N Sli deluxe mobo
Asus geforce 7800 GTX
2 gig pc 2700 ddr
athlon 64 3000+
480 watt power sup

Now running all high settings resol 1024/786 (something like that) with 4x aa and 100% view

Smooth gameplay FPS up from 60 few drops below that.

WOO WOO. Nasty side affect tho, I've developed feelings for my videocard, that cant be normal ;)

Im running a 7800gtx with 2 gigs ddr and an athlon 64 / 3000+ and im on all high at the 1024/786 res and 4x aa.

Getting around 75 fps in dense battle, otherwise sometimes it sits on 99 fps. Mostly around 75 tho

Hey all, just registered here but been reading for awhile. I'm hopeing this is the right thread and someone with some technical expertise can help.

I had a Falcon Northwest Mach V which I exclusively played Mechwarrior on for years but it became outdated and wont play BF2 so friends persuaded me to build my own. I thought I had "enough" with this new machine to at least play on high and use some of the new cool features such as AA, Dynamic Lighting and Shadows but sadly I can only play smooth, stutter free at medium settings with AA, Lighting and Shadows off :(

Specs:
Lian-Li ATX case
Coolermaster 450W RS-450-ACLX psu
Asus A8V-E deluxe 939
VGA XFX 6800GT 256mb
2 gigs of CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) 184-Pin DDR SDRAM Unbuffered DDR 400 (PC 3200) Dual Channel Kit System Memory (got 2 gigs now).
Sony 1.44
Toshiba DVD-Rom
Toshiba DVD-RW
Creative Labs SB Audigy 2
WD 80gb Sata drive 7200 rpm

I've seen other posters here with equal or lesser specs and can play on high with those features enabled but I cant. Can anyone here tell me why or is there something I dont know about. I'm not an idiot but I'm not even close to being pc savvy, its a miracle I even put this thing together :) P.S. Nothing is overclocked cause me dont know how anyway :)

Thx, Joe

Medium to High settings, recommended to get a sound card and not use onboard

Min requirements to run the game for GPU is

ATI 9200
or
Nvidia 5700 (5500 can work too)

so right now the only thing stopping u is your graphics card so u can't run the game with that, get a new GPU then u should eb fine

My friend would like to know if this system is capable of running the game on medium settings.

P4 2.0 GHz
1Gb ram
x800

He says if not, would an x800pro bump it up to medium settings?

Flanker

FX 5200 runs the game too, but yea Shimmy, I'd upgrade the video card.

Spyro, a faster processor would bump it up to med settings. If he built his own PC, he could overclock it.

Hopefully I can pull high FPS on high settings, whats the command to get your FPS and where does it appear anyone ?

So because of the processor he can only achieve low settings?

You barely meet the minimum requirements (vid card) so you get a barely acceptable framerate. That's what a minimum requirement means. A video card that slow would probably restrict your framerate even if you had 2GB RAM and a 4GHz CPU. I wouldn't bother upgrading to anything less than a GeForce 6600 or 6600GT. After that you might look into replacing your 512MB of PC2700 with 1GB of PC3200 (1.5GB total) if it will actually let you increase your memory clock speed.

Well, my new comp has arrived, I installed XP Pro, then stook BF2 in, installed it, and double clicked it and that lil tiny rectangular box came up "Play Bf2" "Play BF2 Online" blah so I click play BF2 and nothing happend I then fit an X8 DVD Drive thinking the other one didn't work, stuck it in that, the same problem arrose.

Is there any other way I could try and run her?
