One of the projects on which we are interested in working is a modding community site for Battlefield 2. We currently don't have the resources to devote to this right now in terms of setting up, but if anyone would like to build a site we can provide free hosting, support, domain name registration, and a variety of other features. Here's what we're looking to do in a nutshell:

We would first like to build a community site, featuring forums, modding, skinning, unwrapping, 3dsmax, and every other concievable kind of tutorial. We will also offer specific forums sections for recruitment and other purposes. We would like to make it easier for modders to do their job, and to increase the rate of exchange among mods. During the first phase we will try to gather the modding community on this site.

During the second phase of operations we will network with a few partners, including EA, and provide modders with tangible assets. In addition to the earlier offerings, we will give modders dedicated download support on a non-fileplanet based (i.e. free with no waiting) network. We will also aim to provide mods with one free 24-40 player testing server, and additional server rentals at discounted rates through a partner.

If you're interested in participating in this project and you can help with web design please PM me or get ahold of me on MSN immediately. If you're a mod leader or member and feel that this project will help you, please indicate your support below. We are currently looking for anyone who can help.

EA plans on launching a modding website similar to Valve's Valve-ERC (http://collective.valve-erc.com/) website, so I would save your money and effort.

if anyones stuck for freebie mod hosting www.thegamingunion.co.uk (http://www.thegamingunion.co.uk) /shameless plug.
We were a similar site to the idea above, bringing mods together for Homeworld under one roof allowed faster development and almost competition between mod teams to make breakthroughs. But that was then.
If someone could get it together it would work well
