I patched the game and played for a good hour.
Now I try to log in to my account, it says
" There was an error listening on a socket..."
NEVER ever heard of anything remotely like that.
Anyone care to enlighten me?

Make sure your firewall and router are setup to allow the game to play though. Most will detect a changed version of the program, so you may have to re-allow it.

since the patch modified bf2, some firewalls (should anywyaz..) block it untill allowed. set your firewall to re-allow bf2.
