Install and General Problems...

Alright...I installed BF2 once and everything worked fine...no problems...Installed the 1.01 patch...took awhile but other than that no problems...installed 1.02 and my computer shut down...as in turned off...Could have been overheated but I redid my hard drive anyways and reformatted my computer (due to other problems...seemed like a good time to do it)...Now when I try to install BF2 I usually cant get past the 2nd CD and the first one will get an error message around the userhelp file...and the second CD freezes up on a map install...if...IF i get to the 3rd CD there is usually no problem...and if i get it all installed with no problem...when I click on the BF2 icon the BF2 shield comes up but does nothing...if i press CTRL+ALT+DEL it doesnt have it as a program running but just under a process...im getting really f*cking pissed off where Im just about to throw the damn game away...Ive already played the game...so why is it messing up now?

It sounds like you're having the same problems as a friend of mine. He was able to install the game right after purchase, but when the patch came out he ended up un-installing and that's when the problems began.

When he tried to reinstall the game it would give him problems during the entire process. Eventually he was able to get that dang thing installed but when trying to run or launch the game it'd just sit at the "Battlefield 2" screen. No sounds, no movement, nothing. He still hasn't been able to play it since the first uninstall.

Either A) Game won't install freezing on disc 1 or 2 or B) Game will install but will not launch (no sounds, movement)

Has anyone else been having these same problems by chance? I'm sure you're out there :eek: but so mad that you don't care anymore?
