EA and Valve team up

looks like EA and valve are teaming up
Electronic Arts revealed that as of this fall, it will be the international publisher of the forthcoming Xbox version of Half-Life 2, which will now ship in October 2005
EA will also assume distribution duties on a new Game of the Year edition of Half-Life 2 for the PC, which will include Half-Life 2 and Counter-Strike: Source, as well as Half-Life 2: Deathmatch and Half-Life: Source, in a single box.

thought this was kinda interesting. though it wont make a difference in Bf2 its kinda funny after VU and valve have falling out thath VU's top compatition grabs EM

lol nice idea EA... half life 2 collectors edition is pointless, CSS and HL2:DM come free with HL2, which is £15 now, and HL:S is absuloute crap.

yeah tbh the console version of anything thats on PC sucks ***, BF2 for consoles is just pants compared to even bf1942. hmmm prolly in breach of my NDA there but meh whatever.

Why would EA want to tie-in with Valve, when Valve have a delivery system that is in direct competition with EA's?. Could we be seing Steam being used for delivering EA games to the desktop in the near future???

Stuff like this is bad for consumers, and it will only get worse. Usually, videogame companies grow big untill they have reached their peak, and then people go to something else. EA faced the same problem, but whenever people move away from it, they buy the other company out.

That is a definition for cancer, and that's what EA is on the software side.
