How do you encode an avi file into/with Divx? I downloaded DivX Create and I tried to encode a video but it would only let me encode it into this incredibly small sized video with no sound....what do I do?
I made this movie in Premiere 1.5 .....can it encode into different formats?
Also how do I encode into .wmv's?

Well there are a few different programs you can use, but to compress an .avi file you saved from Premiere 1.5 I suggest you use Dr. Divx because even the trial version allows you compress the whole movie. I used and and it compressed my 1.5 Gig file from Premiere into 48 MB with little loss of quality. Get Dr. Divx trial here:

i use vdub most of the time. its a very nice, free tool.
it can encode avis to any codec u have installed.
i also mostly use xvid instead of divx, because the vid looks better and is less big in my opinion.

I use Virtual Dub as well. It's a simple, yet powerful tool. It can also be set up to frameserve from NLEs like Adobe Premier.
One of the best sites on the net for info like this is www.videohelp.com (Been around long enough, it used to be VCDhelp.com :p )
The site I visit the most is www.afterdawn.com <----I highly reccomend this. ;)
Just a note: If you are using a crack of Premier, you may have problems with the Adobe Media Encoder functioning. You will have to use codec plug ins to "export" to different formats.
