Interstate '76 Mod Update

Interstate '76 (http://i76mod.bpmfactory.org) released several skinned renders of cars, an uzi, and their new website today. The team is always looking for fresh blood, so any modder needing a team with a passion for cars should contact them.

Interstate was a great mod for BF42, had a really fun feel to it (gotta love the disco!). I hated the deathmatch races though, I could never get more than 1/4 mile before dying in some gruesome way. lol

Finally a mod team that knows how to make an Auto Combat mod. I played the original Interstate '76 a lot, i still have the original Box of the game :D

Not sure how they can get away calling it Interstate 76, since that was an actual game, but this looks good. I guess they could always call it Interstate 75 or 77 to be safe.

I hope they keep the Static Guns and don't make it like the "Interstate '82 Mod" where you can control the guns with your mouse and move ehm around. Cuz that would ruin alot :(

Also, keep racing out cuz those new kids think "Interstate" is all about stunting, wich is totaly NOT!

You can't copyright movie titles, so can you copyright game titles?

I think it is just a matter of the original developer is no longer interested in making a version of this themselves. I think it was Activision going from memory.

The I-82 for BF42 mod was one of the most underapprieciated mods around. It really was good fun and whoever the developers are they did an amazing job with the car handling as it just felt really good.

The death races were a bit tedious though so lets hope they drop those though even they were quite a technical accomplishment. I almost finished one once as well :D
