I was thinking..
You know when you shoot someone in BF2 and you sometimes see a sort of 'dust' poofing out from them.. well if you were able to change the colour if that you could make it red to look like a blood splater BUT, would it..

1. Work in MP without classing it as a 'mod' just as a sort of 'skin'
2. What would the files be called, where could I find them (exact directory would help) and how would you edit them..

Any help would be greatly appreciated.. :D

The servers kick you for EVERY little change on the files.
When its "verifying" it generates the md5 checksums of each file and compares your checksums with the ones on the server.
Thats the built-in anticheat software.
I hate it. I made many many custom skins for DC and now its "illegal"

I remember in Medal of Honor they allowed Custom Skins, but it turned out real bad. People would make all their enemies have very visable skins, like Ronald McDonald, giving them an unfair advantage.

That is because alot of online gamers are more concerned with their damn scores than having a good time. Personally, I pity those poor fools because they are into gaming for the wrong reasons. I would never use any kind of cheat because it eliminates the 'warm' feeling I get when I kill someone using skill instead of cheats. I don't care what thousands of people that I don't know think of my stats and whatnot.
I have only one thing to say to these cheaters...grow up or go back to Counterstrike.

it's very good anticheat system but it's horrible for modders..

yeah, that is one of the reasons that I still like counter strike, the sheer amount of customization you can have with skins and different models. Which just doesn't exist with other games, shame a few ruin it for the rest :/

*grumble* i assume that these checks will also check for sound files... meaning i cannot replace the music played at the end of the round :(

it would just make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside if i could once hear the Team America theme song after winning a round on the us team.

That would be sweet if the blood stuck to walls like in HL2.

Also can someone teach me how to put video into a .GIF.

And i agree a hundred times too....which is why mu online gaming is so limited and instead i'm lucky enough to have lots of mates who enjoy regular LAN's....:D
