If u are I'd try uninstalling/reinstalling BF2 and then go straight to 1.02.

Save ur mydocs/bf2/profiles/0001 folder b4 u do.

Do you have some kind of firewall on? becouse my Norton where ****ing whit that file too, turn it off for the moment.

it will take a long time to do and uses lots resources aswell. it took ages on mine and about 2/3's of my ram about 900mb
