Hey Guys, I was thinking 'bout getting that Ribbon but anyway my question is: How do I get commander points? And I mean 28 minutes thats a long time!

Pretty much what they said. 64 player map, commander from the get go. DONT USE ARTY to gain points. Use supporting. Make your squad ask for the arty strikes, and drop lots of crates. Spotting enemies is good too.

how does spotting enemies give u points.....i didnt think that could do it

only way ive found you get points is: friendlies using your supply drops, friendlies capping flags you order them to, spotting guys using the 'scan' and responding to requests from your team. artillary, flag capping yourself, healing/support yourself, kills from guns yourself WILL NOT COUNT. i had 50 artillary kills the last commander game i played, and my final score was like 32 (had no team kills either), so for all those who think artillary makes a difference, you are wrong. best way to get points is hide in a corner of your base, and 'command' the whole game

btw, spotting enemies gets you points when you:
a) use 'scan' and spot the enemies
b) your teammates have to kill those scanned enemies

You can also spot enemies without the scan by fully zooming in where you can see every soldier not hidden in a building or such. You can spot out these soldiers just the same as if you had scanned the area. Pretty useful for close quarters firefights when your UAV is occupied elsewhere or currently down.

I got it at 44, but I also had -6 points becuase some idiot decided to run up to an artillery site after I spammed to watch for it. Everyone says that you need 50 points, I guess TK`s do count in your score lol...hehe finished the round with 52, so I would of gotten it anyways.

i just got mine too...the thing i did was went on a 20 person server playing kubra dam with 300 tickets on each side and eventually got to exactly 50 points wen i got the ribbon...ended with 62

i cant find a high ticket server that is ranked? anyone got any ip's?

Reinstall the game and dont patch anything. The high ranked ones are usually at 1.0 version...

I finally got it!!!!

It was a 20/20 server with a 64 player map. danquing Oilfields.

I was on the Us side and my squads where excellent, they requested me things they followed my orders, they capped lots of flags and i ended with the ribbon, the gold medal with 120 points and global win by 180 - 0 or something like that.

It was just perfect.

dude how can you have the distinguished service ribbon when you dont have 30 hours of play time yet? because it takes 10 hours or squad leader and squad member and commander???? thats what im wondering

p.s. nevermind i looked at tehw rong number lol but how can you ask that when uyou have 10 hours or more as a commander

does that 2x stuff always work? cause i usually get 100+ points regular when im commander... then at the end of the round i get like 200, does all this count?

no the 2x bonus only multiples your commander points by 2. so you can get 200 points from blackhawking in a round but if you try and apply for commander to get the 2x bonus (making it 400) it wont work.

I got this ribbon pretty easily - its really not that hard. You just need a big, 64-player map with a smaller number of players so that flags can be captured, lost and recaptured constantly. Your commander score is more or less entirely based on the average score of your team, so the higher the points your team mates get, the higher your commander score.
