I made my first moive just now....its rendering or sumtin.....and i was wonderin I used a full melltica song....... is that ok? i stated that I used thier music b4 the movie and stuff...... its like MOVIE BY CARGOSLUG MUSIC BY METALLICA. like I dont want any legal trouble..... :D I'll post it soon.

no, i don't think there's anything wrong. i've seen many BF2, DC, DC_Final vids with full songs in them.

actually its copyright infringement to use entire versions of songs, only they haven't been caught. You can take your chances. I'm not sure if giving credit to original author lets you use it because you still need permission.

It is technically illegal to use any copyrighted material without licensing. However, to get into legal "trouble", you would have to make some sort of profit that the rights onwers could prove as "damages." In the case of community videos for video games, you are safe to use whatever you like unless you are selling it.
