Tactical War Mod Update

Tactical War (http://tw.bfworld.net/index.php?op=index.php) posted three new renders of weapons, the UMP and the MP5 for the French army, and the OICW for the American army.

Absolutely FANTASTIC artwork!!! Excellent, excellent modelling, peeps. I am happy that you guys have such talented people working with you, I just wish (sorry) that it was for a more plausible Mod. This France vs,. USA just doesn't fly, and kind of looks amateurish, when I know you guys are capable of so much more!
It's sad, man. I just wish you guys would think it over.
Talent like that isn't common, and I would love to play this Mod if it only were something realistic, beleivable, and not a confirmation of Europe's ,or France's in particular, condescending, negative attitude towards Americans and the USA.

:) well you see, that was 60 years ago, and apparently, countrys change in 60 years. i think it was in the begnning of the 90: s, when u became the preatty much only world superpower, and when you said: ha, we can kick all of ur asses if we whant to, so you just shut up and do what we say. that got me to loose respect

French!? .. They lost military strength after WW1 and won't gain it back. I'm sorry to sound so rude to the French but I mean, anyone you ask about the French army dealing with strength, their gonna laugh.

Nice OICW model and MP5K model .. the UMP needs work on the skin..looks a bit un-skinned still.

Cool models & skins, but the mod seems like a joke, if anything it should be the Germans vs the French...but even that would be a joke because France hasn't won a war in a very, very long time...

hell i still say we should just allow the Germans to take France back, but I'm not turning this thread into a political ******** thread... (that crap doesn't belong in a gaming forum)

I like the models...XM29 looks so weird(not the model, I mean teh real thing), it's huge!!...btw..to GeneralPatton, models aren't skinned!!!

Also, when I click on "here", it tries to load the page and then says..."Page could not be displayed"...so I didn't get to see MP5

From my point of view, we had to choose a ennemy for a fictionnal war, and and we are a little team. So some work had to be already done. So we choose US

Le Russian Army is all time the bad guy and it's wearisome. Now I think all the gamers knows what is an AK47. How many mod simulate a war between US and Russia ? POE, DC, RA...

We wanted to create an other war, very improbable I know, but an other war.

And we are french and european too (nobody speak about a european constitution please :rolleyes: ;) ) so we will probably create an european army. "Our" war isn't a war US again FR, but a war US again Spain, France, Germany...

seems very nice and french army possess a lot of very good weapons and had some very nice accomplishments in the last 15 years so it seems realistic to me, maybe also some urban troups like GIGN, SWAT etc.. could add some fun :D

Just to let you know St0n3dWoLf .. if you click on the UMP, the modeler is also stated as the skinner but if you look at the other 2 .. it has ??? marks for the skinner .. Just a little imput to you :laugh: :D

Hi ! I'm coleader of TW. I just wanted to tell you that our choice is not definitive. I mean our first main goal was to put France forces in the middle of the other, present in bf2 (USA, MEC, China). After that we thought that the modern US equipment was also very interesting to put into so that we did first imagine this USA-France confrontation which is actually unbalanced and irrealistic, I agree. But the next step for us is to include a virtual european coalition that may face the other great powers with a realistic mix of the best european vehicles and weapons. Why we don't already tell that as our main storyline? Because we want to first focus on France and "If we have time" we go on with the other armies. That's all, no political meanings in that all ! France love USA, USA love French (girls ;) ) and bf2 mods are only games.

O, well to me UMP looked like it wasn't skinned at all, except for the two red lines near the fire rate switch....plus, the person who posted this update said...they are still looking for skinners...

I have a solutuon. All out war against North Korea. Absolutely plausible and believable story line.

Anyway, reagrding artwork in particular kudos to you ans your team, you are all very talented and have my highest respect, even thought you hate us Americans.

People are making mods with space ships and aliens, or boring old Germany vs. USA or Russian vs. USA themes... yet a France vs. USA war is such an issue and so unbelievable...? :laugh:

Thats actually a really good idea, specially if they atleast keep China in the game, which would make it even more plausible.

(Yet kind of scary when I think about it, seeing how the base I'm at is only a hop-skip and a jump from Korea.)

Also, I never said I wouldn't play this, it just didn't seem very realistic, but nice models, nice selection of weapons and what not, I'll defiantly give it a spin.

Your all proposals are definitely such great ideas. I imagine that a "France with USA vs. Korea & China " is a far more interesting and realistic scenario. Or we could also deal with the conflict between Taiwan and China as there is a high risky situation there with a US fleet defending Taiwan from China and China getting its troops more and more prepared to an assault if the Taiwan government dones't cooperate.
However I see a problem in that: who have any information about what's going on in North Korea actually ? Their uniform, their weapons, their vehicles ? Almost all is kept secret so...

I believe North Korea uses most likely AK74's of some sort.. I doubt they are as up-to-date as the Russians with AK101's, 103's and such. ..Uniform..who the hell knows..do they wear camo or a solid color..Look at their allies.. see what they use and then you have a good idea what North Korea has.

I am sure we can all agree that they primarily use Former Soviet Union type weaponry in addition to some things they but from a few trading countries.
In addition, it could easily be imagined that should China ally itself with N.Korea that they would supply N.Korea with a LOT of it's Own Armament. No?

IMHO, should you take the mod to this next step, I believe Tactical War will be a premier Mod for BF2 and a Mod to look up to.

There is a lot of information available on north Korea's military. Look on the FOIA page of the Defense Intelligence Agency. They have an extensive book on north Korea's military(http://www.dia.mil/publicaffairs/Foia/nkor.pdf). Also have a look at the OPFOR book FM 34-71 at Nautilus(http://www.nautilus.org/DPRKBriefingBook/military/OpposingForceTrainingModule.pdf)

Add to that Janes Infantry Weapons and Armored Vehicles....

There is a ton of information available on NK. South Korea is a little tougher to find OB on, but weapons and uniforms are fairly easy.
