View Full Version : Best Three man Squad?

All I can usually get to play together are two friends and me. So with that being said I was thinking of what the best three person squad would be. Obviously, medic would be in there somewhere, but what about the other two?
Of course they'll be different for big and small maps. I was thinking for small maps it would be more of a versatile "assult" group with a medic, 1 assult, and one special ops (for taking out vehicles).
Big maps? I couldn't think of a set-up that would be awesome. I hate sniping and I can't picture my self sitting there with two snipers as support.
There are obviously combinations that have advantages (on big and small maps) I hadn't thought of. What's worked for you?

One medic, one support, and the third would be whatever is required for that map or situation.

I guess it depends on the vehicles in the map. If there arent to many on the map 3 medics or 2 medics and 1 support is always good. If you only have 1 medic dont let him be the squad leader. Have 1 Spec Ops, Engineer, or AT for vehicle maps. For an all around balanced team I guess Support (Squad Leader), Medic, and Spec Ops would be decent.

One Medic, One Support, One Anti-Tank/Spec Ops.

ya, get a medic with the L85, support with the pkm and an anti tank. You will pwn cause the midic can snipe, support can mow down ppl and anti-tank has unlimited ammo due to the support!

Well, I think different situations would call for different set-ups. But, IMHO, I would have to say that generally speaking, two medics and a support. This is the only three man set-up that would give you even a small chance at going through an entire round without a single death in your squad. I think your squad can move and shoot for the longest possible time with this set-up. Of course, it would mean just finding a good hiding spot whenever armor roles in and waiting for the armor to roll on by before sticking your heads out again.

You are going to need something to take out armor or at least hurt it bad and get it to run away. Otherwise, a tank can kill 3 infantry pretty easily.

Of course, that's why I made the comment about hiding when armor is near.
However, the way I look at is like this:
With a three man squad, with one member being able to take out armor, if your squad engages the armor, the armor is still going to win a good number of times. Ergo, you can run and kill for a while, but pretty soon your entire squad is going to do the 15 second sleep. It's pretty much unavoidable. So, if you go two medics and a support and just hide from armor, leaving the armor for larger squads to take care of, your squad will likely be wiped out significantly less. Less squad obliterations = less travel times from spawn points etc. Which, usually equals a lot more globals at the end of the round.
There's no rule that says that your squad has to try to take out anything it spots. There are other squads on your team. If you're playing as a three man squad, then worrying about taking out armor isn't for you.

So, this is new. The other one would have to be dug out of the archives.

Well, yes, of course. But, then you run into major problems with a whole host of other situations. Sure, you'd be hell on wheels for taking out vehicles, but what happens if you run into one guy with a PKM, 50 meters away? He'll likely just mow down the entire squad before any of you could raise your launcher sight to your eye.

I doubt it. If its a good AT squad one of the three will land an AT rocket on the guy before he takes them all down. Besides, this setup is not good for all maps, only ones where there are always a bunch of vehicles going around. Gulf of Omean is a good place for this setup, as there are damn near always a tank or APC rolling around on the beach.

2 medics and a sniper or
a medic, an anti tank and a sniper

1. Medic
2. Medic or support
3. Special ops or anti-tank
EDIT: Also, I think 3 or 4 is the ideal number of members for a squad, at least when pubbing. Any more and you attract too much "attention" from the enemy commander. And you can fit your whole squad in a single jeep. Plus, if your squad is overwhelmed by something outside your control (maybe a plane bombs your vehicle), it's only three tickets you lose, instead of six.

2 medics and a support (as SL) would be best for 90% of games. Just have to remember to stay away from armour.

medic, antitank, and support
medic with g36e and supoprt with pkm will usually win most inf battles and anti tank for those pesky tanks

i think the best squad is medic->-Assault->-Specops. Assault can mow people down, and if you need ammo, call i friggin supply crate. Your not the only 3 people on your team

I think 3 meds is the best, of course your not going to be poping armor but the continuity of the squad would be difficult to counter.
Second choice would be med, at, specop. Med: Obivously. AT: Anything bigger than a cart. SO: Accuracy and speed.
Third is 1 Med and 2 of what ever the other guys are best at.

i think u have to fix it according to te situation, but get the squad members to listen to the leader is ......kinda HARD, dont u agree?

Med, Spec, Assult.
Med for cover, heal, revive.
Assult for quick GL kills and stable cover fire.
Spec, incase you go behind the lines to blow assests or take flags.
It would be great to have supply or AT, but TBH, I think if you are on foot, you need to just try to find a way to avoid armor, because, I don't care if you have AT with you, if it is just one AT, you most likely are still screwed.

if you have a friend that is accurate with support you should go medic (for healing/reving/anti infantry), Support (for ammo/anti infantry), Anti Tank (to deal with the pesky tanks/choppers/vehicals that come your way)
this is the way me and the guys from my clan do it when we are in 3 man squads.
